Most G-Shocks are $60 and up, so I was a little nervous about getting a $30 G-Shock. This is definitely a genuine Casio G-Shock and not a counterfeit. I think the reason it's so low cost is that it's designed for kids. Most parents wouldn't spend $60 for a watch their kid will destroy or lose in a year. That being said this is a great choice for a kids' watch. It will take the abuse most kids will dish out. I bought this watch as a tough watch for my wife to wear outdoors, however she likes it so much it's now her everyday watch. I've seriously thought about buying another one and just keeping it in the box.

Pros:

*Tough, it's still a G-Shock, maybe not as tough as the Pathfinder series, but definitely better built than the average digital watch.

*Large, legible, display. What I don't like about most G-Shocks, is they are gigantic in size but have microscopic displays with a lot of nonsense graphics on them. This has a nice readable display.

*It has animated animals! When you press the light button a random animal comes on the display and does a dance, fun.

*Functions, it has a lot of built in above average functions like DST, world time based on cities, and a lot of other fancy features I haven't had time to look at yet.

*Style, it's just really good looking even better than the picture. It's not as overbuilt and bulky as a classical G-Shock. It's face also has a mirror around the display.

*Inexpensive in cost, not in build. Great value.

Cons:

* The buttons are deeply recessed and hard to press if you have big fingers.

* Really that's the only con.
