4.0 out of 5 stars Good, but not great
This is a very nice keyboard for home use, even more so as the price is right. The digital readout is easy to see, with nice big black letters and numbers for the important information. The sound is crisp and clear. There are many voices and rhythms to choose from. I especially like the "teach yourself to play" system with so many playalong tunes and a nice fat songbook...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not MIDI capable
I bought this keyboard with the sole purpose of using it with my piano/keyboard learning software just to find out that Casio products are not MIDI capable with most Windows OS's. Other than that it was a nice keyboard, it just bothers me that it advertises MIDI capabilities but is very limited when it comes to this. I have also read about people having problems using...

This is a very nice keyboard for home use, even more so as the price is right. The digital readout is easy to see, with nice big black letters and numbers for the important information. The sound is crisp and clear. There are many voices and rhythms to choose from. I especially like the "teach yourself to play" system with so many playalong tunes and a nice fat songbook. The folk and classical rhythms and accompaniments are WONDERFUL and not found on other keyboards. I like the piano voices in my CT640 better though. Maybe one day I will have this set up as a MIDI and can download those better voices from the Casio website into this keyboard. It's really a very nice instrument, with a headphone jack that works well, putting out a similar sound to what comes through the speakers. Because the piano voices are not the greatest, I recommend adding a sustain pedal when ordering as well as the power adapter, and, if your earphones have the little pin plugs, you will need a stereo phone plug to stereo pin plug adapter.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great keyboard!!!!, December 29, 2008
This review is from: Casio CTK-3000 61 Key Digital Keyboard (Electronics)
This keyboard is a great keyboard for the money! If you want the one that comes with the stand and headphones, order this - http://www.amazon.com/Casio-CTK3000-Keyboard-Professional-Headphones/dp/Casio CTK3000 Premium Pack with Power Supply, Keyboard Stand and Professional Closed Cup Stereo Headphones/ref=pd_ts_MI_25?ie=UTF8&s=musical-instruments. The review above appearently did not read the discription as I did and I got the other one with the accessories. Mine came with the accessories and stated it in the product discription, you got to read to know what your getting not just look at pictures. As I said, great beyboard.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great little keyboard for the price, November 2, 2010

This little Casio is touch sensitive. It has really been a nice keyboard for my piano instruction. The voices are not as good as you would hear on more sophisticated keyboards, but they are good enough. The keyboard has a metronome and learning system. It also will switch so that they player can put chord accompaniment to a tune. The one thing I like most about this keyboard is that it is so light you can take it upstairs, downstairs or just put it on your lap. For my instruction purposes, this is great! If I need to accompany a student, this is a great little instrument to put on my lap and play along with the student. One other thing, it hooks right up to your computer and you can use it as an economical midi. I've got an Imac and Garage Band works very well with this little keyboard.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great beginers keyboard, June 26, 2010

My first time learning to play a keyboard and the built in screen got me playing simple songs strait away. very incouraging and makes you want to keep playing. It however does not teach you to read music, only shows you where to place your fingers when, but a small investment in a book or cd and you can.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great product, no support..., February 17, 2010

For the money this is a great keyboard. Great sound, totally compatible with computer programs, and full of hundreds of tones and rhythms. The only thing that I would warn potential buyers about is it doesn't come with an ac adapter or power cord so you'll have to buy one of those on your own. Not a huge deal, but a bummer if you're waiting for an instrument and then get it and can't turn it on.

5.0 out of 5 stars Casio 7000, September 14, 2009
This review is from: Casio CTK-3000 61 Key Digital Keyboard (Electronics)
I am having a great time learning to replay the piano. This is the perfect way for me to get back into it, although I only had two years as a child, it still is turning into a great time.

4.0 out of 5 stars Usb port is square not circular!, January 31, 2011

When I purchased this, I also bought the usb midi cable converter, assuming that it would be compatible with the keyboard. When they had arrived, I opened the package and tried to hook everything up, later realizing that the usb prot on the keyboard is square, and the usb midi cable converter is circular. So if you're going to be hooking up your keyboard to the computer, you want a type b printer cable. Other than that problem, I definetely feel this is a pretty decent keyboard for its price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Its allright for home, January 28, 2009
This review is from: Casio CTK-3000 61 Key Digital Keyboard (Electronics)
Looks like Casio is better now, this is very complete, it doesnt sounds perfect like as if u where hearing a deep acoustic piano but for its price is allright im sure u can practice in it getting acceptable sounds. If you dont want to spend too much and get something usable i recommend it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Solid Keyboard!, January 4, 2012

This review is from: Casio CTK-3000 61 Key Digital Keyboard (Electronics)
Got this for Christmas when I picked my piano playing up again. The main reason I picked it was because it had touch sensitive keys (though not weighted), there's a difference between touch sensitive and weighted. Piano's have weighted keys and the high end 700 and up keyboards have weighted keys.

I did not want to spend more than $150 (hehe) because I am no music major or performer, it's just something quick when I get the urge to play some music.

The sound for me was good enough there are many many tones to mess around with, and there is a pitch bend wheel which is also cool. I havent tried making beats on it but if am not mistaken some one on youtube used this keyboard to make beats so I think it is possible.

The keyboard is also reeaalllyyyy light! which is awesome when I am moving it around the house. It also looks pretty nice. Although I don't like the music stand it comes with, it's one of those that's basically just the frame, so when I put sheets of music on it, the sheets flop around, bend through the hole and fall, which is annoying.
This keyboard is probably the best in the price range.
I think it is only good for beginners though for an intermediate to pro player you'll want more than 61 keys and something with more accurate sound, this is good but not amazing. Still I love it and will definitely be keeping it for sometime.
Also if you do not buy the amazon package it does not come with an adapter, you have to buy that separately.
