A total of three hundred advanced tones are programmed with DSP tones to make the Casio CTK-691 a rich and powerful sounding keyboard. Advanced tones like stereo piano and tremolo electric piano highlight some of the possibilities beyond the 516 standard tones. You'll also receive fifty realistic drawbar organ tones. If you want even more control over your tones, you can edit the parameters of preset tones and save up to a hundred original tones in user tone memory. Built-in flash memory lets you expand your selection of tones and rhythms by downloading data from the Casio music site, or from other sources. You can also store up to two hundred SMF format music files for playback. The keyboard comes with 140 rhythms. The backlit display shows chord names, tempo setting, keyboard information, and staff notation of notes played. The general MIDI tones of this keyboard let you connect to a personal computer to enjoy desktop music capabilities. This keyboard can be used as a desktop music input device or sound source. The keyboard runs on an AC adaptor (AD-5, not included) or 6 D batteries which will power the keyboard for up to four hours.

It's fun , it's versatile, it's very playable and great value for money. Not only that; but AMAZON has it at a knock down price. You can't find a better keyboard value at this price! I'm using it in home recording, for live music applications and for songwriting. Its portability as well as versatility makes it a leader. The sounds are very realistic and the inboard speakers give excellent sound. Don't be put off by the Casio name and think this is just a toy. You can make some serious music with this puppy. I'm really enjoying mine (bought from AMAZON of course!).

A great sounding board. The new technology Casio implements certainly makes for very real and warm sounds. The keyboard is intuitive and reasonably easy to use and learn.
The problem is the alleged internet capability...it is NOT internet capable. The Casio Software downloads easy enough but do NOT try to download data or songs....Tech support is working with me but they have tried for a month to no avail. If they would design their software to work this keyboard would rate a 5.

This really is a great keyboard in terms of sound and value for money. It outclasses its Yamaha rival and is cheaper.
The digital synthesiser program (DSP) can be edited for all sorts of effects with brilliant results. 5 different 6 piece songs can be recorded, and this set of keys features either realtime or step recording. Perhaps the only let-down is a couple of minor technical issues, but with MIDI compatability and backing songs, an Intermediate or beginner will be enthused for hours! I was, and still am! Also worth a mention are the fantastic drawbar organ functions, with 50 of them, and you can do anything in the name of music to them, have fun and make music, a wonderful piece of kit!
