5.0 out of 5 stars A good, versitile watch
I had this watch many years ago, and I'm happy to have just purchased another. When the battery in the old one ran out (4 yrs), I was given a different model as a gift, and I was less impressed. I'm glad the casing cracked, and I had a good reason to get my old watch back!

3.0 out of 5 stars A good basic watch
This is a good basic watch that can hold quite a bit of info, like phone numbers. But it is not up to the same standard as some of the more expensive Casio databank watches. I use this one while playing sports and it's just the thing. This watch would be good for a kid, too.

5.0 out of 5 stars A good, versitile watch, January 3, 2007

I had this watch many years ago, and I'm happy to have just purchased another. When the battery in the old one ran out (4 yrs), I was given a different model as a gift, and I was less impressed. I'm glad the casing cracked, and I had a good reason to get my old watch back!

This watch is one of the slimmest profile data memo watches I've seen out there--half as thick as the one I just got rid of. The battery life is great, the display is easy to read, the adjust button isn't exposed like many others these days. And the feature I like the most is the on-screen two-week calendar with scrolling alert feature. This is strangely a rarer feature in data memo watches, and it's the one I miss the most. Small bars appear in the calendar boxes, notifying me of impending scheduled events, and when an alarm goes off, the scrolling message reminds me of what I needed to remind myself! Honestly, I can't believe that feature isn't standard on every watch that features up to 50 programmable alarms!

One draw-back. No indeglow, or whatever they call it now. The screen is *much* harder to read at night due to the small light inside. But I'm not willing to trade the size, the style, and the alarm feature for a better light. This is my favorite watch.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent watch!, February 12, 2008
This review is from: Casio Men's DBC62-1 Databank Digital Watch (Watch)
Excellent watch! One thing that makes it different from a lot of other Casio calculator watch models is that it has a "countdown mode" -- you can set it to go off "10 minutes from now" or "45 minutes from now" etc. (very, very useful while waiting for experiments to run or dinner to cook).

The little table with a two-week layout of your scheduled alarms is also VERY useful. The keypad buttons are much more responsive than they were on older Casio calculator watches, so it's much easier to enter numbers quickly.

The light has not been a problem for me. The date and time are clearly readable in the dark -- even though the light comes from the left side, it lights all the way to the seconds on the right side.

5.0 out of 5 stars My Favorite Watch-not too clunky for a woman!, October 14, 2008

I've worn this style of Casio watches for many years. This style is the more compatible with the feminine wrist size. I work in a job in which I use all the watch functions. I need it so much that I bought two because I tend to scratch up the crystal. The keys are flush with the crystal and can't snag on sweaters. This makes for a smooth feel and sleeker look. I use the alarm clock every day and it is loud enough to wake me. The functions are easy to set and the light is bright. I feel naked if I go out the door without it.

I had this watches for a long time. Really, really nice, slim and stylish.
The only concern is about light. It doesn't cover the whole area of the dial.

5.0 out of 5 stars best watch ever, December 31, 2008
I bought this watch about 3 years ago and haven't taken it off my wrist. I shower in it, swim in it, etc. It's still going strong. I figured I'd only get a year or so of wear out of it, but not the case.

5.0 out of 5 stars Oldie but a goodie..., November 13, 2008
This review is from: Casio Men's DBC62-1 Databank Digital Watch (Watch)
This watch is very similar to a watch I received for Christmas when I was only 12 years old (way back in 1989.) I broke that watch due to my own carelessness and recently bought this model from Amazon just to relive the good old days of the Casio Databank calculator watch. I had forgotten how useful this watch is. I hate carrying my cell phone, so this watch is great for storing the numbers that I have a hard time remembering. I also have a knack for forgetting appointments, lunch dates, etc, so the scheduler built in to this watch is awesome! The little calendar at the top of the screen displays which days you have appointments on, and then a unique alarm (different in sound from the normal alarm) goes off at a time of your choosing to remind you of your appointment. So for instance if you have a lunch appointment on Wednesday with Bob, you would just program it into the watch and put a time of perhaps 11:50 on that day. Then on Wednesday at 11:50, an Alarm would sound and "Lunch with Bob" would scroll across the screen, letting you know that you had to meet him in 10 mins. Very helpful!

Also has a daily alarm, timer, stopwatch, and of course the calculator.

The downsides are the fact that it has the old style light (due to the fact that it is an older watch) instead of the Illuminator technology. It also only has one daily alarm. Newer digital watches let you set multiple alarms for daily, weekday, or weekend use. Again this is because this is an older model watch. At the price Amazon is asking for this model, you can't beat it. I bought this one for nostalgic reasons, but I may go ahead and pick up a newer model as well.

This is probably the 3rd or 4th Casio databank I have owned. As far as I'm concerned, it's the best watch ever made. I hope Casio continues to make it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Classicly Cool, July 21, 2008

I wear this watch everyday and get compliments everywhere I go. I unfortunately work in construction so I scratched it up a bit, guess it's not a tough candidate for the everyday grind. Cant get the stopwatch function to work, I hope the next one I get works flawlessly.
