From the Manufacturer

The EX-S7 embodies the sophistication and innovation of Casio's Exilim line. Offering modernized features and improved image processing capabilities through Best Shot, Easy-Mode and Face Detection, it delivers quality images that can be shared on a variety of social media platforms such as Facebook and YouTube. Whether on-the-go or spending quality time with friends and family, the photo taking and sharing experience is fun and occurs at the touch of a button.

Developed with Casio's latest Exilim Engine 5.0, which delivers higher image quality and lower power consumption, the EX-S7 is a 12.1 effective megapixel digital camera with a 3x optical zoom lens and a 2.7-inch, high-quality LCD screen. With a quick-access dedicated movie button, users can record memorable moments in 720p high-definition (HD). Additionally, the EX-S7 is compatible with SD memory cards.

The camera also features Casio's celebrated Dynamic Photo, a Hollywood-like green-screen effect which adds animated graphics into still photos where users can create unique e-greetings to share with friends and family. Dynamic Photo gives the power to create original and artistic visuals that can be emailed, posted on social networks and even printed out at home.

Exilim EX-S7 Highlights

Newly-developed Exilim Engine 5.0
Casio has made even further advances from its Exilim Engine 4.0, which contained both an ordinary CPU and a high-speed dedicated image processing CPU. The new Engine 5.0 increases image processing speed by 30% and produces beautiful images through advanced color reproduction and rich tonal gradation and by removing noise from photos in high sensitivity mode.

Dynamic Photo: Make composite images of different moving images
Casio has achieved great advancements in Dynamic Photo, a function that creates "moving photos" by cutting moving subjects from the background in images taken with continuous shooting and combining those images on a different still image. In addition to composites made with a still image background, cut-out moving images can now be pasted on other moving images. This new capability raises the power of expression of images. Thus, while increasing the "fun of creating images," these models will also increase the "fun of sharing images" by making it easy to upload images to YouTube using the included software or post them to a blog.

YouTube Movie Mode
Movies can be recorded and saved using the ideal size and quality settings for the world's most popular video sharing site, YouTube. Recorded movies can be uploaded to YouTube using the included computer software.

High-resolution HD Movie function
The EX-S7 also features an HD Movie function. Just press the dedicated Movie button to take beautiful movies at 1280x720 pixels.

A stylish, slim body
The Exilim Zoom EX-S7 is a 12.1 effective megapixel model with a 3x optical zoom lens, and its slim body (.78 inches at the thinnest point) won't take up much room in a pocket or purse.

Convenient Face Detection function
The camera automatically detects people's faces, allowing users to take well focused and beautifully exposed pictures of the faces of their intended subjects.

easy Mode helps new comers become an expert with common settings
Using easy Mode, photo settings are restricted to just image size, flash on/off and self timer, and these are displayed on a simplified menu screen.

The non-Amazon reviews were pretty positive of it, it was about $100, it had new technology, etc. - so seemed like a good deal. Flash never worked. Picture quality was not good in any mode. Low light conditions - forget about it. Very disappointed. We got sick of it, finally got funds for a new camera, and got a Casio Elph 300 HS - way awesome camera for $155.
