4.0 out of 5 stars Great G-Shock
The G1000H-1A is a classy, sporty, and durable timepiece. The motor function in the watch is absolutely a work of art, and the look of the watch is just as impressive. The watch does sit a little high, but that is typically expected of G-Shocks. The face is very well protected and hasn't gotten a scratch since I purchased it over 4 months ago. 2.0 out of 5 stars Did Not Work
Received this watch and it was beautiful. Just what I was looking for. After trying it on, I fell in love with it. I then went to correct the time and could not get the button to work. It says, hold the "A" button in until you hear a beep and the hands would move to the set mode. Nothing. I tried and tried to set this watch and could not get it to operate. Sent it back...

4.0 out of 5 stars Great G-Shock, January 17, 2009

This review is from: Casio Men's G1000H-1A G-Shock GIEZ Chronograph Black Dial Analog Watch (Watch)
The lume on the watch isn't the greatest, if you depend on viewing your watch at night this watch is NOT for you. The lume fully charged lasts a good 2-3 hours, but fades significantly after. If you're looking for an analog watch that's durable, sporty, classy, and reliable the G1000H-1A is a great option.

When I received the G1000H1A G-Shock, the first thing I noticed was the blend of functionality with impressive styling. Gorgeous watch!!! This G-Shock blends a traditional style that is suitable for any occasion with a rugged construction that can handle all environments. My only challenge with the watch was setting all of the features... whatever you do, don't lose the instruction manual! I would reccommend this watch and would purchase it again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not impossible to adjust, March 25, 2010
By
This review is from: Casio Men's G1000H-1A G-Shock GIEZ Chronograph Black Dial Analog Watch (Watch)
First of all I would like to state that this watch is NOT impossible to adjust.
It may be a problem if you don't have the manual yes, but all you have to do is
spend some time reading it and going through the procedures.
A rocket scientist I am not, and I had no problems adjusting all the settings
with just a little bit of patience. It's all too easy to complain about these types
of analogue watches. Most people make the wrong choice.
So, do NOT buy this watch if you are either impatient, hate gadgets or have poor eyesight.

This is one of the best looking analogue watches ever to grace a mans wrist.
Just be careful, becasue this G-shock is not everyones cup of tea, so choose carefully.

Outstanding comfort, highly accurate, extremely well made, and incredibly tough.
Remember people, when you buy a chronogragh analogue watch, the big second does not move
in normal time keeping. The smaller second hand in the bottom dial does.
People always complain about this I really don't understand why. Take the time to get familiar
with what you are buying, otherwise the watch gets blamed and incorrect reviews get posted damaging
the reputation of this fine timepiece. Enjoy.

I got this G-shock after I recieved a Nautica chronograph. Wasn't too fond of the Nautica (way too big) so I exchanged it for this one. I am very impressed with the G-shock. Lightweight, good size, looks amazing. Took me a little time to figure all the functions out, but I have it all set up now. Being able to switch from my time zone over to GMT and to be able to see both at the same time is a nice thing to have in my line of work. The fact that it looks this nice and will take a beating as well isn't too bad either.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great gift for husband or boyfriend, September 1, 2009
This review is from: Casio Men's G1000H-1A G-Shock GIEZ Chronograph Black Dial Analog Watch (Watch)
I bought this watch for my boyfriend last christmas. He wanted a nice, but rugged watch to wear for outdoor use as we hike and camp a lot. He loved it and hasn't taken it off since. He wears it every day. I was a little weary that it would look cheap, but was pleaseantly surprised. The picture doesn't do it justice. It is hard to set the time, but the directions are easy to follow. This is a very nice watch.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice, but a little bit confusing and get use to, November 13, 2011
This review is from: Casio Men's G1000H-1A G-Shock GIEZ Chronograph Black Dial Analog Watch (Watch)
This is a nice watch; however, usability-wise can be a little bit confusing.
Most of the confusion come from a worldtime/alarm sub-dial.

This is not a normal watch dial but combination of 24 hours and normal minute dial (60 minutes). Casio try to represent digital number using normal analog hand. To achive this..

Digitally, let say you see number on digital clock as 6:15A, so on this subdial

1. The hour hand point to number 6 (not a 6 o'clock position) of the marking 1 to 24 and
2. The minute hand point to 15 as it is represent in a normal watch dial.

If it is 6:15P, then you have to first know that in military format it is 18:15 so
you would expect the hour hand to point to 18 and minute hand to 15.

Now, to confuse you more, if the time is 6:30A, the hour hand will likely point somewhere between number 6 and 7 (Why Casio?). And the dial is so small; therefore if you are farsight, you might have a problem configure the alarm and read the wordtime unless you carry around magnify glass.

If you don't care about all these functionalities, then this would be a one sweet watch and it is keeping the time perfectly. Otherwise, it will take some getting use to.

2.0 out of 5 stars Overly Complicated, November 1, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Casio Men's G1000H-1A G-Shock GIEZ Chronograph Black Dial Analog Watch (Watch)

Here are the pros and cons of this watch:

Pros:
It is a sturdy and nice looking watch.

Cons:

The watch is overly complicated to adjust time. Every time I need to do even a simple task like switch between day light savings time settings, I need to pull up the manual and toggle between pressing a whole bunch of buttons and just about when I am frustrated enough to smack it against the wall, it some how eventually works. Worst experience as far as adjustment of time.

The other thing I don't like is that the stop watch is not as simple to read as a digital watch but then since I opted for an analog watch (purely for the looks), its really my fault. I needed a watch to track my running and workout time. Wrong choice!
