Classic 80's time piece, August 17, 2010
This review is from: Casio Men's G5600A-9 G-Shock Yellow Shock-Resistant Digital Dial Watch (Watch)
This watch brings great memories to me. I started Surfing in the 80's while I was in High school. Back then the only watch that could take such a pounding was the G-shock, and then one day I saw a Yellow G-shock, it was awesome, the regular ones, the black color ones you could find them everywhere, but not these babies...
The watch is an exact copy of the 80's model, funcions are the same, with the exception of the solar powered battery, this is a great addition, as it is not any watchmaker or watch store, that can appropriately reseale the watch once you need your battery replaced.

My only complain is that the watch is not made in Japan, is made in Thailand, yet the watch's quality so far has been excellent. It does feel a bit lighter than my previous G-shock though. I wouldn't mind paying a little extra for a Japanese quality watch but heck, you can't find them in this color anymore, if you want a Japanese one, I believe there is a black model available here at Amazon.
The buttons are a little hard to push, but the watch gets the job done. It's a tough watch. You can't go wrong with this one. I spend a lot of time at the water, swimming, surfing and S'up and like the old days, this G-shock can still take it. During my years as a Surfer I had close to 10 Free Style watches, they couldn't take the beating my ol' G-schock took.
Great service from the seller, the watch arrived earlier than expected with all its manuals and Casio Box.
See ya'in the water!

Purchased the G-shock after I broke the movement in my second automatic watch in 2 years. The solar powered battery holds a charge very well. Keeps good time. It's comfortable on the wrist. What more could you really ask for in a watch? Its no Rolex Milgauss, sure. It won't score you points with women, but it is 100% honest about what it is. A watch that will never need a battery as long as you own it, will keep close enough to perfect time to satisfy any normal person and won't break unless you pound it with a sledgehammer. It will serve you well, heartily recommended for anyone with an active lifestyle who is whimsical enough to be comfortable wearing a bright canary yellow watch.
