5.0 out of 5 stars Awsome watch
I have had 2 other G-Shock watches before buying this one. The only reason it was 2 is the battery died and after 7 years the watch had served me well, so I just replaced it. I had though about buying an atomic/solar Casio for awhile before the purchase. After recieving the watch and learning how to operate it, I wish I hadn't waited so long. It's a great looking watch...

2.0 out of 5 stars Great looks and features but HORRIBLE design.
This is a cool looking watch with a lot of great features and most importantly, it keeps great time. What I dislike about this particular watch is that it is just bulky and becomes very uncomfortable to wear after a while. Not only is this watch thick, it's also long. Where the band meets the watch, there is no give at all. Bad if you have a wide wrist and bad if you have...

It's a great looking watch with the toughness that I have come to expect from Casio. These are watches that will stand up to everyday wear and abuse with out missing a beat. I especially like the light, you can set to run off a button or to turn on when your wrist is turned toward you to look at it. I like the look of analog watches, but enjoy the benifits of a digital. Which makes this watch a home run. The only slight I could even make is the band fit on my wrist. This something that I find common in this style of band, so if a perfect fit is something you are looking for you may want to go with a metal adjustable band. Overall, I would give this watch 5 stars. It is products like this that keep me buying Casio G-Shock watches.

5.0 out of 5 stars Value for Money, August 28, 2006
This review is from: Casio Men's GW1400A-1AV G-Shock Atomic Solar Watch (Watch)
This is one of the best watches I have brought, it has got a good time keeping, alarm and most important is you never need to change batteries.

Casio is one of the pioneers in watches.

This watch is great except the light flashes on whenever it feels like it. The watch is a little heavier than I thought it would be but it is attractive and well worth the price I paid for it.

Reasonably attractive for a casual watch; like auto light function and solar power--no batteries to change every year or two; automatic time setting didn't work in my location but I was able to manually hook up with the Colorado time signal; very good value at the price

This is a cool looking watch with a lot of great features and most importantly, it keeps great time. What I dislike about this particular watch is that it is just bulky and becomes very uncomfortable to wear after a while. Not only is this watch thick, it's also long. Where the band meets the watch, there is no give at all. Bad if you have a wide wrist and bad if you have a short wrist. Part of the band goes underneath the watch and makes it even thicker at that area which makes the back of the watch to not lie flat. Overall just a very strange design. With this watch you'll always be aware of it around your wrist. Especially when trying to dig a coin from the bottom of your pockets. Let me just say again---THICK!!

It's important to note that this could be a perfect watch depending on the size and shape of your wrist. However since there is no flexibility of the band, I think it would be wise not to order this online without trying it on first. Again, it definitely gets cool points for the look and features. Unfortunately those don't get used much since I rarely want to wear it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great watch..., December 13, 2007

I have had this watch for a little over a year now, talk about taking a licking and keeping on ticking. I am a firefighter so this watch has taken some punishment; heat, sweat, knocked around, washed in a washing machine. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars, I thought it had a second hand which is handy for taking pulses on patients. The stop watch feature is nice for working out, but the display can be hard to read at times since it is so small. The solar part of the watch has worked out well, I have never had a problem with the watch running out of power. The atomic clock is a nice feature, when the time changed this year I didn't have to worry about dragging my instruction manual out to read up on how to change the time. So if you are in the market for a low mantainence, rugged watch this is as good as they get.

Exceptional value for the money! The watch is beautiful and the recipient was particularly impressed that it had the correct time and date upon his opening the present. No more watches that say the 31st on the 1st of the month!

Well,
It looked like a cool all-in-one watch. The only information that was missed, was a thickness of this super-device. When it arrived I was really surprised: they are huge! It is whole 2cm (3/4") thick. Also the body of the watch is design for smaller wrest than my (I am 5:10. I returned this item and exchanged for different model, with no G-Shock
