4.0 out of 5 stars Atomic Watch
It was what I expected, but a bit on the heavier side than I thought it would be. He is not sure if he wants to keep it as he would like it to be lighter.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice features, but too bulky.
It's got all the bells and whistles - solar power, world time zones, stopwatch, alarm, lighting and synchronization with NIST atomic time. Just set the watch to your local time zone and you'll never have to set it again - it always has Correct Time (TM). Unfortunately, this watch is a real beast. It's nearly half an inch thick. 4.0 out of 5 stars Everything I expected, May 13, 2007

I was looking for a watch with 1) no batteries; 2) atomic synchronization; 3) ruggedness. This watch has all that and good looks to boot. I've been wearing every day for about 6 weeks now, I've gotten a few comments on it, and so far it has synchronized every night with the signal from Colorado (even though I'm in VA). I especially like the fact that the watch face (crystal) is protected by oversized "bumpers" (it's inset/down below the top of the watch). Although others mention it's heavy, it's lighter than I might have expected, but don't kid yourself, it's very bulky/thick. I searched a lot before buying this, couldn't find another with all these features at this price, I would (and have) recommend this to anyone looking for these three key features, as long as you don't thin/bony arms.

Follow-up: It's now been 8 months and I still love this watch, but I just saw now that the price is now double the $70 I paid. You may be able to find better deals than this, but at $70 I'm still more than satisfied with my purchase. Still not a single scratch on my crystal, still synchronizing nightly.

I've always been a big fan of Casio's products and this one has not disappointed so far. The atomic adjustments and solar power have worked perfectly, and the watch looks great. The size and weight have not been a problem as some others have been concerned about, but it does take a day or two to get used to. I highly recommend this watch and would definitely buy it again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best watch I've had in years, June 10, 2007

great sturdy watch don't be deterred by its size because if you are then this may not be the watch for you. So if your into something that's sleek and small then look for something else but if your looking for something that has a little more meat in it then this watch is for you.

It's so bulky it's almost comical. If you're a 350 pound linebacker or scuba diver, this isn't such a bad thing, but I'm not, and this thing is really clunky on my wrist.

Overall, the features are really nice, and this watch is sturdy enough it could survive being run over with a car, but it's a real monster on the wrist.

This is my second Casio watch of this type. The watch is maintenance free, adjusts itself every night and takes care of daylight savings time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Casio G-shock Atomic Solar watch, July 17, 2007
This review is from: Casio Men's GW1400DA-2AV G-Shock Atomic Solar Watch (Watch)
The product is terrific. The Casio #GW14ooDA-2AV is really the perfect watch, solar powered, atomic radio wave set from Denver and a diver's watch (water resist to 200 meters with potentially no need to open up the back for battery relacement). And as is the case with ALL of my Amazon purchases, the best price, the best products, the BEST!

4.0 out of 5 stars nice, May 13, 2007
This review is from: Casio Men's GW1400DA-2AV G-Shock Atomic Solar Watch (Watch)
Very nice watch would recommend it too anyone who needs a watch to wear for work and also when going out for dinner. The only thing that stopped me from rating it a 5 star was that the anologue screen is too small.. The watch looks big but is not too heavy and it will definately get noticed.
