Given the cost of plastic - it would be so much easier to add 1/2" to the length of the band (granted - I have the wrists of a gorilla with pituitary issues) and allow people to trim the excess. I love the watch but I think I may have to send it back as I cannot get the band to buckle correctly. For those with human sized wrists, it's a great watch - thin, stylish, inexpensive.

To stretch the band out (a warranty voider for sure) boil some water in a pan - repeatedly dip the band in the boiling water and then stretch it out - or if you need a lot of give (1/2 inch or so) buckle it, dip it in the boiling water and stretch it by putting it over a THICK (to avoid glass breakage) tapered drinking glass whose base is smaller than your wrist, and who's top is larger. Do this repeatedly and the band will eventually stretch out 1/4-1/2 inch to fit larger wrists.

I know - it sounds like a lot of work to make a $10 watch fit, but that's how much I like it - it's simple, tasteful, keeps good time, and looks professional without being ostentatious.

This is a solid watch that preforms well. It is elegant and not an overstated hulk of plastic. Quietly ticks away and will continue doing so for a very long time. For this price there is really not much of a reason to not purchase one.

TOP 1000 REVIEWERon September 19, 2012
The watch looks good for a $10 watch but don't let all these great reviews fool you into thinking this is a high end watch for $10. First the watch is actually smaller than pictured. If you have big wrist/hand the watch will look like a woman's watch on your hand. The band and case are made from cheap plastic Resin, however they seem to be durable. For a cheap watch it has a unique design. The all black with white face gives it an elegant look but it is still a $10 watch. The back is stainless steel and can be removed to change the battery. So far it has kept accurate time and battery life has been decent. This will make a good cheap watch to wear to work in an office environment not for heavy duty work. If the price of this watch was anything other than $9 dollars I would give this a 1 star but since its only $9 it is well worth the price.

Now don't get me wrong, this watch does its job, it works fine as a simple analog watch and its water proof. BUT I was a little bit dissapointed with the size of the watch.

While I did not want a bulky fat ass watch on my wrist I did want a decent size so it wouldn't be mistaken for a girls watch. This particular watch is right in between the sizes for a mens watch and a girls watch. I don't know but this watch seemed a little too feminine. It was my fault for not guessing the dimensions of the watch a bit more accurately but I guess I expected too much. But for under $10 this watch is a pretty good buy, just don't be too surprised if looks a small on your wrist.

I was going on a hiking trip and needed to buy a watch so I didn't need to wear my good one. I found this one on amazon and by the picture it looked really classic and modern and good. So a few days passed and the watch arrived. I opened the box and took out the watch. The bracelet part was a cheap plastic and the cover for the clock part was already cracked. I still decided to wear the watch on the trip. When I started to hike I noticed that the top glass part of the watch was broken and had fallen off. The clock hands had broken and I did not know the time. I can't believe I'm saying this but it was a waste of ten dollars plus one day shipping. I will never buy a cheap watch again. The watch lasted for two days.

First off, like other reviewers have mentioned this is NOT a large watch. It is about 1 3/8 inches horizontally across from the tip of the crown to the other edge of the case. If you need a huge watch to prove your manliness, keep searching. If you want a watch that has an accurate Japanese quartz movement, a watch that weighs only 19 grams that you will forget you are wearing, is super low profile (which helps keep it from catching on things or scratching it), fits under a sleeve with ease, will not slide down your arm when you lift your hand over your head, has GREAT contrast and can be easily seen in dim light, is water/ rain resistant so long as not submerged in water, and a 2-3 year battery life all for under ten bucks shipped to your house, then this is it.

The entire length of the watch is 9 inches, but the effective length from the last hole to clasp is about 8 inches. If you have a huge wrist this watch may not look good nor fit you well. The stainless steel case back can be pried off from the 12 o'clock position (from the back), and the battery CAN be replaced. The watch has a Japanese Miyota movement inside (which is apparently made by Citizen watch company), and has a Japanese Sony 626sw battery which requires you to loosen a very small flat head screw and slide a little metal arm out of the way to remove the battery. When doing this be careful not to touch or remove the rubber seal around the outer edge of the case or you may lose the water resistant ability if it comes out of its groove. When you push the case back on it goes it pops in place nicely and rather snug. My battery lasted one year until I had to replace it, so the watch was probably sitting on a shelf for a year or two before I bought it.

The watch does not tick loudly, and I like the look of it which is very classic. No one will mistake it for a high dollar watch but people may notice it easily for its super white dial and clean look. I've actually got more compliments on it than my $200 watch, which is weird. I have a medium to smaller sized wrist and looks fine on me. Having a plastic case and relatively thin resin strap it most likely will NOT be able to withstand the abuse that a G-Shock will, but if cared for will always reliably tell you the time even down to the second.

Cheap, light, accurate, Can you ask for more?
I'm still relying on a hand watch for telling time as my phone is not always next to me, and time-keeping is important for my work.
Until a couple of years ago I used to wear big, bulky watches (esthetic preference), but they started bothering me, and since I switched to a macbook, the band and clasp used to snag on the laptop's border, so I tried living without a watch for a while. Couldn't.
This one fits the bill, I can work on my macbook with no issues whatsoever since the band is thin and rubbery and the clasp somehow does not snag. I'm saved! I'm never removing it as it does not bother me at all.
The only thing I'm missing is a date display, but for that price, it's astounding value for the money. I love it.

Bad news first: After 3 years with this watch (thank you Amazon for keeping track of when I bought it in 2010) it failed to revive when I replaced the battery. (Thank you, Battery Bob, for supplying me with new batteries.)

Good news: I am happy to buy another one. This is my favorite watch. I have it also in the black face but the white face is easier to read for my tired eyes.

It is true, as some other reviewer remarked, that the resin band sticks to your wrist, particularly if it's warm and humid. That doesn't really bother me. I have a bunch of watches and if it's really warm I wear one with a stainless steel band. (If it's really hot, I don't wear a watch at all.)

Some have criticized this watch for being too small. It is true that the watch is much smaller, but for someone like myself who has small wrists for a guy in his twenties, it was EXACTLY the size that I was looking for. There are thousands of other models of watches in stores and on amazon that cater to larger wrists, so I was very happy to see something more suited to slim guy. I love the contrast of the black and white, and for less then ten dollars, it has held up remarkably well for a daily watch. I would buy it again!
