I researched this model watch thoroughly before buying because I have owned other Casio watches and knew the features I wanted in my next Casio. First, let me say that I've never owned a Casio that was a disappointment. But this time I wanted a watch that didn't require a battery change every 3 or 4 years. I also wanted the G-Shock series, solar power and automatic daily time correction. I personally like analog/mechanical movements which this watch is totally. The MTG1000BR-1A is all of these in a very handsome Rose Gold/Black package. If there is any one thing that could be better it would be more than 1 hour on the countdown timer. But one can easily restart the timer on the hour so even that's no big drawback. Unless you're mechanically inclined you'll want to have a jeweler to remove links in the band to fit your wrist. Casio doesn't include instructions for that although I was able to discover the assembly method of the band and adjust my own. However, it is rather difficult to do if you don't have the knowledge and proper tools. If you register the watch online with Casio for warranty purposes they give you an extra year of warranty for a total of 2 years. I like the watch extremely well and it has 5 stars from me.

I recently purchased this watch and it is exactly what I thought it woud be. Works great and looks fantastic.

This is the grand-daddy of all the G-shocks I have owned. This is good looking enough to wear to the Taj Mahal with or without taking out a terrorist subject, while you are at it.

This watch is very nice to look at and I was excited when I got it. However, my excitement soon ended when I found it impossible to get the watch set to my time zone or almost any other function. In addition to confusing directions everything is so small on the watch that I needed to use a magnifying glass to read some of the dials.
I took the watch to a couple of Casio dealers, including one with a Casio employee, and none of them were able to set the watch. The Casio employee was aware that this was a difficult watch to deal with. This may explain why I never saw this watch in any brick and mortar store.
Ultimately, I had to send the watch back to the seller. They couldn't have been more accomodated and they also acknowledged that this watch was very difficult watch to adjust. They were also helpful in recommending another watch that I now have and am enjoying.
