Good watch for gear heads, September 13, 2005
If you like gadgets, then this is the watch for you. One concern was the size of the watch. But after wearing it for the past two weeks this has not been a problem. The barometer, altimeter, compass, and thermometer features all work, and the accuracy is acceptable. The compass is the most useful feature. Great watch to have with you for hiking, or traveling in places you are not familiar with. This watch is solar powered, so you don't need to worry about batteries. This is a great feature for me, since every watch that I have changed the batteries myself on, no longer remained water-proof. Dislikes: The analog watch hands are not luminous, you have to press the lite button.

Cool features, but some not very accurate and bezel kind of large., February 7, 2007
When I found this watch on the internet, it didn't look quite so big and there were no pictures of it on an actual person, so, I was shocked to see just how large it really is when it arrived. That said, it is very light weight and very comfortable, so the size doesn't really bother me. As for functions, read on: I love the functions that came with this watch, compass, altimeter, barometer, temperature, along with the usual chrono features. However, don't be fooled into thinking, as the manual says, that the factory calibration is unlikely to need adjustment when you get it home. Check the barometric pressure with a reliable source and you'll find the watch is probably way off. As for the thermometer, it is accurate. I just don't understand why it lacks a body temp compensation. Casio made a watch over 10 years ago that had very acurate temperature readings and correctly compensated for body temperature when it was set to do so. This watch requires you to take it off for 20 minutes then read the temp. That is a bit impractical when you are wearing it in the outdoors and wish to check the temp. Lastly, the altimeter is a bit too variable. I've taken readings in my kitchen several times and found it to be anywhere from 320 feet above sea level to 800 feet above. I've also had a reading of 600 feet. I don't think I'd rely on this watch to tell you when to pull the cord on your parachute! For the price I paid, I would have expected the watch to be a bit more precise.

Worked great for 4 years... then all the extras stopped working, November 28, 2007
I've had this watch for many years and have not had a problem with it. Worked flawlessly for 4 years... just this past month, the compass, altimeter and light stopped working under normal use. The watch is no long under warranty, so I think I'm out of luck. Only the time part is still working. Casio only has a 1 year warranty. Disappointed in the durability of the all the other functions.
