Great idea, terrible realization, April 10, 2005
This review is from: Casio Men's Watch WVA430SGA-9A2 (Watch)
Except for the bulk (and, to a certain extent, the "user interface"), this is an excellent watch: it provides very accurate timekeeping, looks good and is very reasonably priced. Unfortunately, the reliability is extremely poor. I have had two samples, both of which have failed in the same way shortly after receiving the watch. The sweep second hand gets out of sync (by up to 10 seconds) with the digital portion, rendering the extreme accuracy meaningless. There is no way to correct this without sending it back to the factory. I will probably try to get a refund, since there are obvious engineering and design problems. Customer service from Casio was terrible: the first sample was returned 5 weeks after I sent it in and numerous phone calls (with long waits) didn't help. This is the last Casio product I will purchase (because of their miserable customer service). Finally, the user interface is poorly designed: there are too many options to be conveniently controlled by 4 buttons.
