Product Description

The new Casio Privia PX130 redefines the digital piano category with unprecedented sound quality and performance in a sleek package that is supremely portable. Featuring all new grand piano samples and a new Tri-Sensor 88-note scaled hammer action keyboard and weighing less than 25 lbs., the Casio Privia PX130 is versatile enough for home, church, school or on stage. Realism, Expression and Dynamics The grand piano sounds in the PX130 delivers an unprecedented level of realism and expression. Four dynamic layers of stereo piano samples are integrated with Casio's proprietary Linear Morphing System, resulting in a grand piano sound with seamless transitions and a superior dynamic range. For added realism, the PX130 simulates the sound of the open strings when the dampers are raised by the pedal using Acoustic Resonance DSP. The PX130 also has 128-note polyphony, enough horsepower for the most demanding musical passages and the ability to layer sounds and use the damper pedal without worry of dropped notes. The result is a grand piano experience that is unmatched at any price. Expressive Touch The Privia PX130 features a new Tri-Sensor 88-note scaled hammer action keyboard. Casio's superior engineering has resulted in an authentic piano touch that captures every detail and nuance of your performance. This scaled hammer action provides the weight, feel and resistance without sacrificing the portability of the instrument.

I got it as a gift for a professional pianist to have at his new smaller apartment so he can practice without bothering the neighbors.

The Casio PX130 Privia is definitely a bargain. When I was on the market for a digital piano I had a very specific criteria:

- Full size (88key)
- Cost
- Sound
- Delivery time
- Refundability
- Playability
- Durability

Full size:
The unit is definitely a full size 88 key keyboard. If you want to play anything that has been composed on a full size, chances are you're going to need a full size to play them correctly.

Cost:
I got it for just under $700 USD, which is almost unheard of for everything included in the bundle. I went to a few local music stores to compare prices, and everyone laughed when I asked for a similar bundle package for the same price, or even for less than $1000. They then proceeded to tell to not expect much from a digital piano that is going for such a low price. They were wrong.

Sound:
I won't lie, don't expect this thing to sound like a grand piano because it doesn't, but I am realistic, and that isn't what I was looking for. The only thing that sounds like a grand, is a grand, period. I wanted something that provided good enough sound to play classical pieces decently, and the PX130 exceeded my expectations. To get even closer to the sound of a grand, connect it to some great headphones or speakers, it sounds really really good.

Delivery:
Delivery time was great. I was given about seven business days, and it arrived in five. Everything arrived intact. No damage to the packaging, or the components within. It came in four separate boxes.

Refundability:
The unit comes with a 30 day hassle free return policy, and warranty. If it's not what you expected, you can return it at no cost to you.

I am relatively new to non-piano keyboards but it was easy to assemble. and i'm not the most handy that way! The stand is slim but solid. The keys feel GREAT. It sounds like a piano, not something that wants to be a piano... love the headset option and i'm sure i will continue to enjoy it more as i discover all the cool features. It was nice to have the whole package... everything you need all in one. Super happy with this purchase. :-)

We've had this Casio digital piano now for about 3-4 months and are very pleased with it. We have an upright piano but wanted an electronic model with headphones so our 14 yr. old daughter could practice whenever she wished. Our home has an open floor plan so for her to play the piano, you can hear it throughout the house which is wonderful but also means if others are watching TV in different rooms or reading, etc. and desire quiet, it can be annoying. Plus, we homeschool so when her siblings were doing schoolwork, studying, testing, etc., she couldn't practice ... all of which was very limiting to her ... plus, we didn't like having to restrict her playing. With this digital model & the headphones, problem solved! She can play/practice at her whim and not disturb anything or anyone. The extra features are nice ... the metronome is handy, the various sound options are fun to experiment with & the weighted 88-keys are just want her piano teacher advised to get. It looks very nice & is fairly portable ... I mean, we've been moving it around to different spots in the house but haven't taken it from the house to use elsewhere so not sure how easy/difficult it is to transport it (to like church or an event). The price was a little more than I hoped for but, so far, seems to be worth it. It arrived promptly or even a day before expected. The stand and bench needed assembly but was not hard; our 18 yr old son assembled it easily.

I have to say, I imagined how this package would be and I was expecting the old saying, ("You get what you pay for.") to apply. I had done my homework over about a three month period before deciding on this one, and I am glad I did because that old saying does NOT apply in this case. You get WAY more than you would imagine. There is some assembly required, it arrives in four boxes, well packaged and protected to avoid any damage. I am a small woman, but I as able to put it together myself. It took a while, but I got there. I was impressed with everything! Then came the final test. I plugged it in and was completely BLOWN AWAY by the sound, the quality and the options. This could easily replace any large expensive bulky piano for anyone regardless of their playing ability. In fact, I was so impressed I sent emails to several piano teachers I know and recommended this to them for students who may have lesser keyboards or pianos at home on which to practice. The sound is good enough for recital play or just playing around or for learning and for fun. I had NO idea it would be so good at this remarkable price. The keys feel just like an expensive piano key would feel as does the amount of pressure normally expected and it adjusts to your touch just like an acoustic piano. There is a music rack that isn't mentioned and it comes with a beginner DVD and book as well as a more advanced book of clasical music. The seller got it to me three days prior to the expected delivery date and was quick to respond prior to delivery when I had a question. This is a MUST HAVE for anyone desiring to learn to play or who does play but perhaps has a bit less space than a regular spinet would require though it looks just great. I think this is the best sounding piano I've ever used and I've used some really good ones.Read more ›
