4.0 out of 5 stars Great Keyboard!
I just ordered this keyboard for our family to learn how to play the piano. I did a lot of research & while I was nervous about buying without playing it first, I was very happy with the features for the price. Would love if it had weighted keys, but that is a whole other price range that will hopefully come after a few years of playing.

3.0 out of 5 stars fancy keyboard
It's not too bad. I'm used to playing on a piano though, so the keyboard is a little tough. It's hard to control sound with these keys compared to what I'm used to. I'll only be using this until I can afford to get my piano shipped to me.

There's more stuff on this keyboard than I'll probably ever use. All different sorts of things you can use like splitting...

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Keyboard!, January 9, 2010

I just ordered this keyboard for our family to learn how to play the piano. I did a lot of research & while I was nervous about buying without playing it first, I was very happy with the features for the price. Would love if it had weighted keys, but that is a whole other price range that will hopefully come after a few years of playing.

Pros: It was easy to set up! The stand took about 10 minutes to put together and we were playing. It's also very easily adjustable for different heights. I liked that it came with the AC adapter (most keyboards suprisingly do not). Great features & fabulous sound on the grand piano. My kids have not stopped playing it since we opened the box. It came all packaged neatly together with 2 song books that match the songs played by the keyboard. I used to know a few of them by memory & have forgotten, so it'll be a great way to refresh & improve my piano skills. Also like that it has the earphone, mic, sustain pedal & usb connections in the back - not all keyboards have all of these... some miss one or another.

Cons: The earphones that it came with are broken. The right side has no sound. I have to replace them directly through the manufacturer which is a major annoyance. They would be great/comfortable earphones w/ volume control, otherwise.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very satisfied with this keyboard, August 15, 2010

This keyboard is well worth the money. Especially with the stand, power supply and headphones being included. It has 570 built in sounds. You can use the split keyboard option and the layer option with all of the sounds. The keyboard even comes with 2 song books with songs for people of all skill levels. All of the songs in the books are also loaded on the keyboard, so you can play along if you want.

I downloaded the data manager from the Casio website. It allows me to save the data onto a PC. I loaded it onto my netbook. I sampled some sounds from my virtual synths I use in Cakewalk Music Creator and some work better than others but it does allow you to add some cool synth sounds. The sampled sounds are erased if you unplug the power supply and you have no batteries in the keyboard. But I can take my notebook with me to upload the sampled sounds to the keyboard before a gig or rehearsal.

There are a lot of features and the manual could be a bit better. That's probably my biggest complaint. However, if you lose the manual, you can download the pdf file for it from the Casio site. Just go to the support section to find the data manager and manuals.

With 570 sounds, you know there are going to be some you may never intend to use. You have some great sounds and some cheasy sounds but that usually goes with every keyboard you buy. It's easy to find a case for the keyboard too. I also ordered that from Amazon. It's a good deal overall and I'd recommend it to anyone. Although, if you have a little extra money, you might want to move up to the WK-500. That model has an SD card slot to save your data on. That obviously simplifies matters for those who don't have a netbook, like I do, to carry around with the keyboard.

We got this unit to allow the children to learn to play the piano. We are fortunate to have an instructor who comes to the house. It worked right out of the box without much set up. To my completely untrained ears it sounds like a real piano. It's sturdy and professional looking and has quite a few buttons we've yet to explore. The headphones are a mother's dream! The different tones and songs are a blast for the children. We've had lots of dance parties. It was a good price for our budget. The instructor himself thought it was a fine instrument and said it would take the children far into their lessons.

I had taken piano lessons for 9 years during my childhood. Because of school, I stopped taking piano lessons. Nearly 20 years later, I decided to get a piano I can play during my leisure time. This piano is perfect for this use. The keys feel pretty close to a regular piano. The sound is great. I do not use all the fancy features (not yet). I am very happy with this purchase and highly recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Surprised!, September 5, 2011

I haven't had a keyboard in years, this was a step up from my 61 key keyboard I had a few years back. I wanted to just play around with an instrument. The construction is extremely sturdy. The keys try to mimic that of a piano, the whole key is there. The keys aren't flat with a gap where you can put your finger under the key, the whole key is there. I feel I have to mention that as the keyboard I had in the past weren't similar to that of a piano. The screen has a lot of info, from which octave you're playing in to showing you the keys being pressed. Sound is very clear, and the keys are sensitive, if you lightly press it it's a faint sound, and if you bang it it's much louder. I can't rate it on other things since I only intended to learn old pieces I've been wanting to play. However, it does have a load of sounds, and some decent pieces that to learn how to play that were included in both the piano and the booklets. Hell, even the stand is great! Don't expect the keys to be weighted like a piano however, the keys are fairly light, while heavier than the cheaper standard keys on other keyboards, it's still very very light compared to the keys on a piano, that doesn't mean the keys are flimsy and weak. The keys are really really sturdy.

However, the headphones, as others put it, doesn't work. I expected that, so it doesn't bother me, I put this here for those hoping the headset is good quality. They're pretty flimsy plastic. The only other con I can think of is if you're standing directly above the keyboard, you can't see the screen too well, however, for me it's not a con as I'm sitting a majority of the time while practicing with it. Just felt I needed to point that out.

I must admit that I was a bit skeptical about the piano at first because your getting all this stuff: headphones, a kickstand, and AC adapter( which usually doesn't even come with most, if not all, pianos). When it arrived I was very impressed. The sound is great and I would say I'm super pleased with this product. One thing I will say is I had no idea it was going to be so huge. This piano would run for like more than $300+.

4.0 out of 5 stars Keyboard Amazing, April 24, 2011

This review is from: Casio WK-200 76-Key Personal Keyboard Package with Stand, Headphones and Power Supply (Electronics)
Hello. I purchased this keyboard with everything on sale for 170$
The earphones sound a bit staticy but it comes with an adapter. I tried using a different pair of earphones and they did not work with this casio keyboard so since this earphones do work the muffled quality is not bad enough to the point where I no longer want headphones so that people dont hear my beginner fail.
The charger of course works terrific you need 6 DD batteries to power on this keyboard and no you can not use DD rechargables for some reason so if your thinking about saving 30$ and just buying the keyboard instead of the set, dont do that. Get the set and save yourself time AND money.
The keyboard stand is a bit wobbly but if you have your piano somewhat against the wall there really is no way it will ever fall. It might be a bit annoying if your playing too roughly or have no carpeting though. All in all the stand comes in handy and you can buy a rug just for the keyboard area if you have tile floors.
The keyboard itself came with a songbook stand that slips in and out of the top of the unit. the keyboard is amazingly big but you can move it with one person just make sure you dont hit too many walls.
My hand fell hard on the top of 1 of the piano keys and it sprung out I thought it was broken but with a LOT of force I was able to pop it back in and it sounds the same.
I think I will keep it probably. [:

The keyboard has an amazing selection of instruments and variations on those instruments as well as percussion sounds, and the weight-sensitivity on the keys is nice. The recording options are not very intuitive but are effective nonetheless. Overall an excellent product for the price.

All different sorts of things you can use like splitting and layering, recording, playing songs so you can play along with them, a million different kinds of instruments. It's pretty crazy.

The headphones are alright. They don't block out noise that's going on around you though at all, which I sort of expected from the look of them.

The power supply cord was damaged when it came, so my husband has written to amazon a week or two ago about it and they just got back to him today. His problem is in the middle of being processed or something, so we'll see if they just send us another or if we have to send it back to them (hopefully not). I've been using a different power cord that we had left over from an internet router box or something like that. The wattage on it said it should be compatible and it hasn't killed it yet. I got this keyboard for Christmas and it would've sucked if I couldn't use it until a few weeks from now whenever Amazon resolves our problem.

The sustain pedal isn't that great. It doesn't sustain very well at all. And it never stays in place. It constantly moves back across the floor as you're trying to press your foot on it. I tried putting no-slip rubbery mat stuff on the bottom of it but it didn't work. Maybe if you have carpet it won't move around on you, but even for that I'm doubtful. I haven't figured out how to anchor it into place yet.

I purchased this keyboard for my daughter. She plays piano and loves recording herself playing. The keyboard, headphone and stand have all worked wonderfully. The stand takes about 5 minutes to set up The keboard is ready to play right out of the box. The headphones are nice with a separate volume control in the line. Overall, I would recommend this to any person looking for a nice keyboard.
