Very Nice with strong sound qualities,
This review is from: Casio LK-270 61 Key Personal Lighted Keyboard with MP3 Connection, USB Port, SD Card Slot, and 570 Tones (Electronics)
I have had my LK270 for about a month and am extremely pleased with it. This is a great family instrument with very good sound. Easy to add midi files with the SD card and do they sound great. The lighted keyboard picks up on these files and plays along. Only downside is that to get the wait for key lights for an entire tune takes a few changes and button pushes every time the the keyboard is turned on. Not real intuitive buttons at times and requires using the manual every time for awhile. Casio telephone support experience was very positive and a lot of help. This is not a toy but a musical instrument with a very reasonable price and the lighted keyboard only way to go as I see it for family use keyboard. Be sure to order SD5 power supply imediately !

I got this keyboard when I hadn't yet had any formal piano training. I tried to teach myself using the lighted keys. It was very good for that. But after I started taking lessons and got some time on a real piano I realized what was wrong with this keyboard. The action of the keys. I expected them to feel a little cheap and plasticky at this price point. But the action of the keys just isn't right. They are not like the weighted key keyboards where the keys are heavy but you can flow with the mass of the key as you press it down. They are not like the unweighted synth style keyboards where it is an effortless touch. (which is what I expected it to) Instead the keys have this springy quality to them that just makes dis-pleasurable and difficult to play. I don't think all Casio lk's are like this. I saw another in the music store today and the key action was much softer. Also I think the user interface could be a little more well thought out and intuitive, but I only have to microkorg to compare with. Other than these complaints I think this is a very feature packed keyboard for the price, but the key feel is enough to make me not recommend it.

I have been playing less than a year and this keyboard has so many options it's really helping me learn. I have had it for a couple of months, and I am going through the exercises every day. They help you strengthen your fingers and learn different techniques, e.g.. crossovers, thirds... I love the lesson system, it has so many songs and classical pieces I want to learn. The method it uses teaches you to memorize the song, use the correct fingering, and even makes you play it back with correct timing and rhythm. I love all the presets which pick the rhythm and tone to match many songs I love. It sounds great, easily interacts with the training software on my pc, is small and light enough to move around easily. All in all I am very pleased.

I bought this keyboard for my girlfriend, and after 8 months of use it just stopped working. I've tried on numerous attempts to contact their customer support, but they fail to return my phone calls, and also ignore my email requests. Finally using their company directory I found someone who told me to send it to their repair depot, however I have a hunch that I'll end up sending it, and that they don't have a record of the shipment. Here goes nothing.

Keyboard is excellent for a beginning piano player and was in new condition as stated although the box had been opened. I would have liked to know it wouldn't operate without the proper plug in cord. It didn't come with one so it was disappointing on Christmas day for my son. We had to go find one before he could try the keyboard.

I bought this keyboard for my 8 years old daughter. She was starting to learn playing music with keyboards. The light function is very useful to learn and memorize songs. But she is not using this function, she plays with music score. The one is using this amazing feature is me... |
