5.0 out of 5 stars Full of Features,
This is an amazing watch, having more features than I will probably ever use. Atomic accuracy and never needing to change the battery were my primary requirements when I was looking for the perfect watch. I found those plus many more in the Casio SPW1000-2V.

2.0 out of 5 stars Casio Sea pathfinder
After I purchased it and read the instructions on the way to St. Thomas for vacation, I found out that there are three models of this watch. The version I purchased from you is supposed to be used for snorkeling only, not scuba diving (even though the watch is rated for 100meters). This was a real dissapointment for me The other two Pathfinder models mentioned in the...

5.0 out of 5 stars Full of Features,, January 28, 2007
This review is from: Casio Men's SPW1000-2V Sea Pathfinder Solar Atomic Watch (Watch)
This is an amazing watch, having more features than I will probably ever use. Atomic accuracy and never needing to change the battery were my primary requirements when I was looking for the perfect watch. I found those plus many more in the Casio SPW1000-2V.

Pros: I originally was concerned about the color of this watch and I couldnt bring myself to buy one of the black pathfinder watches that had a altimeter since I do scuba dive on occasion, and would never see the need for an altimeter.

I am very happy that I chose this, the color has more of a grey hue to it than the amazon stock photo has and the color on Casio's web site doesn't seem to do it justice either.

The watch itself is the largest watch I have ever worn, although it is light enough that you don't notice while wearing it. The viewable portion of the watch face is about the size of a fifty-cent piece. The photos that I have seen don't show a reference to scale the size.

Even though I live in the midwest, the watch updated itself while sitting in the middle of a 2nd floor bedroom, with a "3 of 3" signal strength. You can manually force an update with the Fort Collins time server if needed.

I use the auto light feature, which seems to place a large drain on the battery. The auto light comes on while driving when making turns. I placed the watch in a window for 3 hours and the battery went from "M" to "H".

Cons: The temperature is artifically inflated from body heat while wearing the watch, but it appears to be accurate while the watch is not being worn, albiet not practical.

Other Thoughts: I haven't had a chance to use the depth gage and compare it against my dive computer. I would assume that it will never be a replacement for a dive computer, but I think the dive log feature is something that I am going to use.

4.0 out of 5 stars Dive Watch?, January 21, 2008

This is NOT your primary depth gauge... It most probably(!?!) will withstand basic scuba submersions for the recreational diver(if you don't know how deep that should be... stop reading). All Ok in my experience to take down with scuba, though I would recommend you not use it relavant to safety in any way. Oh and let me add, what a complete, self sufficient, great bit of everything watch!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars The Everyday Adventure Watch, October 5, 2008

Nice multi-function watch for the everyday adventurer. Large display for easy reading. Watch holds a decent charge, even after a week in my drawer. Many useful features. Such as, barometer for forecasting weather changes. Compass for underwater and land navigation. Depth gauge that moniters and logs multiple dives. Has a neat world atomic clock receiver for TRUE times. Casio rates the watch for ONLY recreational swimming and snorkeling. But was designed to handle 100 meters or 300 ft. Hmmm... So far, have scuba down to 120 ft. a few times with no adverse affects on the watch. NOTE! NOT a professional diver watch! I wouldn't recommend going pass 100 ft. Must set functions to be used on surface before submersion. Otherwise, water might get pass the seals if any of the buttons are depressed while submerged.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very nice watch, just overpriced, May 4, 2008
This review is from: Casio Men's SPW1000-2V Sea Pathfinder Solar Atomic Watch (Watch)
I bought this watch for a trip to Curacao and lots of snorkeling. Overall the watch is very nice and does pretty much as I expected. The look of the watch is very attractive, although a little big like a regular dive watch. Compass did come in handy for navigation in unfamiliar areas. The only issues I discovered were as follows:
Automatic time sync does not work in most foreign countries (manual only)
Temperature feature only semi accurate, watch must be off wrist
Buttons can not be pressed while submerged (will ruin watch ;)
Compass reads for 5 seconds then goes static (pressing again updates)
Watch illumination could be a bit brighter (best in very dark conditions)
All in all I am very pleased as I will use this as my primary sporting watch. Would be a perfect deal at around $100.

5.0 out of 5 stars Casio Men's Sea Pathfinder Solar Atomic Watch #SPW1000-2V, January 21, 2009
This review is from: Casio Men's SPW1000-2V Sea Pathfinder Solar Atomic Watch (Watch)
Casio has done it again. It does absolutely everything (except complex dive calculations) you would want in a dive watch for recreational diving. I use is primarily for freediving. It is a wonder why it is not more widely available (I've never seen it in a dive shop) and used more. The only reason is it is eschewed by some is that they have been fooled into believing the more expensive watches are better because they are more expensive. These are the same people who pay $600 for Gucci bags.

It lives up to all expectations...
very fun to use ..
looks good on a man wrist...
watch out for the upper metal surrounding... around the glass... the color tends to rub of if you hit something...

This is not a scuba diving watch but fun for snorkling and skin diving. The atomic watch updates well in the Washington, DC area. Mine updated the first night and I didn't even put it in a window as suggested. It has synchronized with NIST Ft. Collins every night since. Everything works as advertised.

5.0 out of 5 stars I love the watch, July 6, 2008
This review is from: Casio Men's SPW1000-2V Sea Pathfinder Solar Atomic Watch (Watch)
I have had this watch for about 3 weeks now. I love it. But first, I will try to give you my two cents review. The watch really feels solid. The bottoms are very well placed around the edges of the watch. The time display area is very well designed and easy to read. The band fits nicely around my wrist. The new Pathfinder has nice colors combinations. The picture does not give the colors justice. Casio, did a good job producing this watch.
I bought the watch mostly for the size.

I simply love it

I wish this had been mentioned in your description of this watch. Perhaps you will trade this out for a model that can be used for scuba. Dissapointed customer
