4.0 out of 5 stars Good Emergency Backup TV
I bought this TV in July of 2003 after a massive storm knocked out power to over 75% of the Memphis area. I finally got to use it when another storm rolled through May 30, 2004, and our power went out during a series of tornado warnings and severe thunderstorms. 2.0 out of 5 stars Pass, On This One
Purchased this for use during travel, but screen is NOT viewable outdoors and barely viewable indoors.

Reception is poor, unless outfitted with the Xium antenna.

The only positives include rugged, handsome case and jacks for external devices, including external antenna.

This would have been a much better product if they had...

I bought this TV in July of 2003 after a massive storm knocked out power to over 75% of the Memphis area. I finally got to use it when another storm rolled through May 30, 2004, and our power went out during a series of tornado warnings and severe thunderstorms. The nice thing about the color screen is that you can see the radar image on the news and stay informed. The digital tuner works good if you are close to the city. In the outskirts it might not be as effective. I really liked being able to stay with the news after the power went out. It takes 4 AA batteries which are easy to install. It has a "kick stand" on the back which allows you to set it up on a table at an angle. The controls are easy to use and the volume seems sufficient even when the rain and thunder are loud. The only thing that would make this TV a little better would be a larger screen. I highly recommend having this in your emergency stash. If you only use it for emergencies, I would recommend non-rechargable batteries. But be sure to keep the batteries with it but in another container so that they don't leak and make a mess.

4.0 out of 5 stars I love this litle TV!!, June 29, 2004

I keep this on my desk at work. Most stations in my area come in clearly. A few are fuzzy, but that's not the fault of the TV, that happens with all portable TV's. You have to be in an area of good reception. Anyway, this little TV has a really clear picture for a portable TV!

If it came with an A/C adapter, I'd give it 5 stars. But I have to dish out another $15 for the adapter.

This would have been a much better product if they had included a cowling for the screen; not sure how it can be packaged and advertised for use outdoors when it performs so shabbily under those circumstances.

So far, so good...I like it a lot...I even get reception in my car! The low channels don't come in too well, but as with a lot of TV's this is a problem. Very compact and durable.

Easy to use - Great picture - good reception in city but not so great as you get farther from stations
A great little tv to keep in glove box to watch sports while waiting for the wife to finish shopping

5.0 out of 5 stars Great little TV, September 16, 2007
This review is from: Casio SY-30 2.7-Inch Portable Color LCD TV (Electronics)
If You just need a small TV, this is the one. I use it for work and find it great for what I do with it. Good sound, nice pic, love the automatic tuner. Quality small TV's are getting hard to find and You may find less expensive models, You won't find much better for this kind of money.

Excellent product, but the only draw back is that battery wears quickly. They should offer and adapter with product.

My son-in-law was tickled to death when he unrapped his hand held color TV. He watched it all the rest of the evening! The reception was great the colors vivid and all the add-ons that you can add to it makes it a nice gift!

A portable device with more bulk than expected in size. It performs poorly outside, even with placing it under an umbrella and inside a backpack. I used to own another Casio portable T.V.that performed better and was much smaller. Inside, it fulfills my expectations. Screen is small and you have squint watching. Knowing what I know now, I would not buy again or recommend.
