4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent value, so-so band
I own several waveceptor watches, and it is easy to get addicted to the "to the second all the time" accuracy of these watches. I like the looks of this one, being somewhat more elegant and less geeky than most of the other models. It works as advertized and is an excellent value. About the only thing preventing a 5 star rating is that the band is a bit thick and tough...

1.0 out of 5 stars OK watch but battery is a pain to change
I compared other watches that sell for around the same price and chose this one. Unlike other inexpensive watches, the strap is comfortable and feels robust. The back of the watch is plastic and I am curious to see how well it holds up to wear and tear; somehow I tend to be a bit rough on wrist watches.
My only complaint is that resetting the time requires pushing...

I like the looks of this one, being somewhat more elegant and less geeky than most of the other models. It works as advertized and is an excellent value. About the only thing preventing a 5 star rating is that the band is a bit thick and tough... i.e. not pliable. I hope this means it will also be more long lasting, but time only will tell.

5.0 out of 5 stars My husband LOVES it!, March 23, 2007

My husband likes watches and is a bit of a geek, so this was the perfect Christmas gift for him. I was a little bit apprehensive when I recieved it but it works just like it should. It is not apparent from the discription, but this watch does have the date feature. I couldn't have gotten him a better gift for the price, he wears it every day.

4.0 out of 5 stars Bigger than it looks., December 28, 2006

Nice watch but a little larger than I expected, also lighter weightwise than I expected. Black plastic back cover not to my liking but still a nice looking watch. With its frequent synchronization with Atomic Clock it's an accurate timepiece at what I think a good price for under $30.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing watch at an amazing price - a must have., June 12, 2007
This review is from: Casio Men's VQ202HLA-7BV Waveceptor Atomic Silver-Tone Watch (Watch)
This watch arrived set to exactly the right time - to the very second (literally - I used www.time.gov). I found it to be a very attractive watch. Those who criticize it for having a plastic back forget that it has a radio receiver inside! How well will it receive the atomic clock signal encased in stainless steel? It's thick, but not excessively so (it's got a radio receiver inside, after all). The instruction book is not easy to comprehend but I found some directions here on Amazon. Besides, there ain't much to programming it, despite the complaints some have posted. This level of accuracy and "cool gimmicky" for $29 is unbeatable. I don't know why every watch maker has not adopted this technology (perhaps Casio has an exclusive?). The watch face is mineral, case is metal. I like the fact that there is no stem to catch on things. Overall the coolest watch I have owned. This is the iPod of watches - an unbeatable new technology.

It is a really nice watch. I had a Casio Solar Watch before, which was heavy and bulky, and died after 3 months of use.
I have been using this Waveceptor Casio for 2 months now, and I really like it, after getting the setting programmed.
The user manual isn't the greatest, it is very small.
The reason I'm giving this watch a four is when I set it to update, it doesn't catch the signal, and when it did catch the signal it did not take into account the new day light savings shift. I have to make some manual changes, and make sure that the watch was calibrated as well.
But for the price, the feel, and the looks, the watch is worth it, if have an hour to read the manual and to program it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice technology watch, for a great price!, February 21, 2007

I bought this watch two months back and am using it as a casual watch. But it would go with a formal dress even. Works as promised; I have tried synching this watch in two countries, three signalling stations and several time zones, and it works perfectly well. To quote the cons, it IS a bit chunky, but that's ok since I'm using it as a casual watch. The back of the watch is plastic, which makes it look cheap but don't know if there is any specific reason for that. Also it would've gratified my every needs, had there been an 'Indiglo' or 'Nightglo' feature. In complete darkness, the irradiating hands look fine, but if it is half light, then I have to spend a second or two searching for the hands. These are minor things and I am a perfectionist, so here I stamp 4 stars on it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hard to Beat the Price!, July 20, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Casio Men's VQ202HLA-7BV Waveceptor Atomic Silver-Tone Watch (Watch)
The watch is everything advertised. Keeps exact time (assuming you place near a window every night, preferable in the general direction of Colorado where the atomic clock signal is broadcast), is stylish (I could care less the the back of the watch is plastic - who sees the back of a wristwatch?) and the price is sure right. I own a more expensive atomic watch that I wear to work, but the Casio is perfect for weekends.

Don't let the few negative reviews throw you. Follow the instructions and you're set (no pun intended).

4.0 out of 5 stars Really not a bad little watch, August 24, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Casio Men's VQ202HLA-7BV Waveceptor Atomic Silver-Tone Watch (Watch)
Design wise I was surprised at the style and quality of the watch. The leather band was more than adequate and the size of the face of the watch was also pleasingly good. It was a gift for my grandfather and he really likes it.

Now setting up the watch is a different story. I have many fine timepieces including a Tissot T-Touch which is a very hard watch to setup. This little Casio is a pain in the butt. I set the timezone and for some reason the hour was always off until I manually set it. The minutes, date and day were correct though. I would recommend reading the directions on Casio's website. They are the same as the ones that come with the watch, but the little book that it comes with is a pain to flip through.

I would buy one for myself if this model came with a metal band. Do not buy it if you aren't "gadget-oriented," like I said, it can be a pain to get going.

4.0 out of 5 stars The watch does what I thought it would, March 26, 2007
This review is from: Casio Men's VQ202HLA-7BV Waveceptor Atomic Silver-Tone Watch (Watch)
I have no problem with the watch. I actually bought it for my son in law. He seems happy with it. It updates the time and date almost every night he says. Even though it keeps very good time without an up date.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great watch!, January 12, 2007
This review is from: Casio Men's VQ202HLA-7BV Waveceptor Atomic Silver-Tone Watch (Watch)
I bought this as a gift for my husband. He loves it, it works great, looks great, and the price was awesome!

The bragging points of this watch are that the face is large, the numbers are easily readable, it keeps great time because it is atomic, and the hands and numbers glow in the dark for nighttime viewing.

The model we bought had a metal-link silver band, and I wish I could have bought the plastic/leather band, but it was not available at the time. The silver band looks great and my husband liked it, but for work he has to have a non-metal band. We replaced the band with a plastic/rubber one, and the watch is still looking great, and my husband can use it for work or dressy situations!

I can't believe the great price we got this watch for. It is really a perfect watch for men.
