Casio

With the launch of its first watch in November 1974, Casio entered the wristwatch market at a time when the watch industry had just discovered digital technology. As a company with cutting-edge electronic technology developed for pocket calculators, Casio entered this field confident that it could develop timepieces that would lead the market.

Today, Casio is focusing its efforts on solar-powered radio-controlled watches: the built-in solar battery eliminates the nuisance of replacing batteries, atomic timekeeping means the users never have to reset the time. Recently, Casio launched a series of Bluetooth watches that sync to the users cell phone to automatically update the time. Casio is always moving time forward.

It is a really cheap capable watch that looks good enough for me to wear in anything but a suit.

One of the functions I like is that it lights up for a second or so, so you can see the time in total darkness.

When I ordered this watch I did it because I saw this watch has features I need and maybe more than that. I was right.

First of all, I like dual time watch because I like to know exact time in other time zone.

Moreover, I don't want to ask someone for exact date. I want to have it on my watch. This watch also has useful feature - lap memory which helps me when I run arround socer field because I often forget how many laps I made. And, one unexpected but very good feature is auto illumitator which helps me to see the time when my both hands are busy.

It is also water resistant which means a lot when I swim.

In short this watch is perfect for my needs and it is also very cheap.

i need a watch w/ a second hand (i'm a physician, and take pulses all the time). my "good" watch - a le coultre i inherited from my dad - needed to go in the shop for a while. i got this to use while it was gone.

i'm *amazed* by its accuracy. i have a few clocks that automatically sync to naval observatory time, and i sometimes call the official u.s. naval observatory time message at 202-762-1069. this watch has both a digital and an analog component, and the digital part has not gained or lost a second in several months! the analog (not synced w/ the digital, like my intelliquartz) has lost about a second every two weeks!

it's easy to reset the analog part, since the second hand stops when the stem is pulled out. and the blue backlighting is great - especially the feature that allows you to put it in "position sensitive mode" and have it light up when you raise the face towards vertical to check the time. |< [] [] |_ !!!

my highest recommendation: it's now my daily watch. 5 stars.

Had this watch about two weeks. It's very light and comfortable to wear. Always shows the digital date and time, which is nice. I think it looks good, but you'll judge for yourself on that. It has a very pretty back-light, and can be set to automatically light-up when moved into "reading position". This actually works very well, although I doubt I'll ever use it. (The autolight feature automatically disables after a few hours to conserve battery.) As for durability, only time will tell, but Casio has a good rep in this department, so I expect at least a few years. Most likely it will last until I scratch up the face beyond all readability.

I have always liked Casio products. This WS300 watch is great. One feature I like is the user friendly size of the digital windows. They to see and read and yet the analog face is not obscured. Additionally, the watch arrived running and good operating order. The instruction booklet is adequate for setting up the watch.

I often travel overseas, and needed an inexpensive 2 time zone watch to keep track of my different locations. This watch is just perfect. Good looking, lightweight, rugged, and waterproof. It even has good backlighting to check the time on those long transpacific flights. Overall a great value.

Keeps time well, looks pretty sharp. It lacks numbers on the face for the analog impaired. It developed a scratch on its face for reasons unknown that does obstruct reading it from a certain angle. The white faced counterpart to this watch I bought had the same mishap. The digital display is rather small and not as easy to read as I would like. Features are fairly intuitive. It works.

What drew me to this watch was that I needed a cheap functional watch for taking into the bush that had EL lighting. My previous Casio (It is so old I am not going to dig out the model number) used LED which only light up a small corner and it was impossible to read the face in darkness. I have been a big fan of Casio for decades as I have used them since school and they are just so solid so I chose Casio again.
This one did not disappoint but it has a few draw backs. The strap is not the most comfortable. The ribs on the strap near where it meets the watch itself dug in. This lessened over time but it is still not the most comfortable. I have since bought a new strap (TX18G1) for another watch but use it on this one now. The other issue, and it is a really big shame, is that the EL light can only be activated on the main time mode. For example, you can not use the EL light to see what time your alarm is set for. The watch body is primed for 4 buttons yet it only has 3. If they put a 4th in as a dedicated EL light button that can be turned on on any mode then this watch would be virtually faultless.
It is a really cheap capable watch that looks good enough for me to wear in anything but a suit. It is a real shame about the EL light limitation but I do really like this watch.
