Casio

With the launch of its first watch in November 1974, Casio entered the wristwatch market at a time when the watch industry had just discovered digital technology. As a company with cutting-edge electronic technology developed for pocket calculators, Casio entered this field confident that it could develop timepieces that would lead the market.

Today, Casio is focusing its efforts on solar-powered radio-controlled watches: the built-in solar battery eliminates the nuisance of replacing batteries, atomic timekeeping means the users never have to reset the time. Recently, Casio launched a series of Bluetooth watches that sync to the users cell phone to automatically update the time. Casio is always moving time forward.

The setting stem is difficult to turn.

It's great because the bay area rains pretty often during winter time, and so it being waterproof, I don't need to worry about it.

My wrist are small and it is hard to find a watch to fit it!

This watch is exactly what I was looking for: analog, small with a thin band, simple/inconspicuous, water-resistant and backlit-- and still not too childish. It's a pretty hardy thing and the backlight is pleasantly green. The face is barely an inch in diameter, and the whole band is about 9 inches long, so maximum wrist circumference is 8 inches (minimum 6 inches).

For those of us restricted to hypoallergenic watches, it's not *all* plastic: the back of the movement is brushed stainless steel. But I have a nickel allergy and the steel is a high enough grade that it doesn't irritate my skin in the slightest.

And all for under $20!

I was looking for a simple, inexpensive analog watch that was water resistant and had indiglo (or whatever Casio calls its version of the blue light). This watch arrived yesterday and seems to be perfect. One reviewer complained that the watch was too small, but for me it's just right; I don't like clunky watches. It's too soon to report on durability and reliability, but I've had good luck with Casio in the past. Am very happy to have this watch for this price.

Do you not care that your 40 year old daughter and every catalog in the country seem to think that the thicker and larger the watch, the more attractive it is? Do you JUST WANT A SMALL SIZE watch face so you can TELL THE TIME, without wearing something chunky and obtrusive, and either hopelessly expensive or tastelessly tacky, that is so big it is wearing you? Did you spend about four hours on Amazon going through watches only to find, when you read the small print (and I mean the VERY small print) that the average watch covers the entire front of your wrist?
Rejoice, fellow fashion challenged friends! This is it! Small, quiet, and ALL IT DOES IS TELL THE TIME. Oh yes, it also lights up, but it even does that unobtrusively. AND IT'S CHEAP. You will thank me. Unless you are a die hard fan of chunky, in which case don't buy it.

I've been looking for a simple watch. I didn't need anything fancy. Just tell the time and be able to get it wet. Having it light up is a great extra. This watch fits the bill.

I adore my wristwatch. It's great because the bay area rains pretty often during winter time, and so it being waterproof, I don't need to worry about it. Or even going to the bathroom to wash my hands isn't too much of a problem. I wouldn't risk submerging it into too much water, since if you pull out the analog thing, water could go into and ruin it. But it's really pleasing to look at and it functions like it's suppose to. I do wish it had a stopwatch or timer function, but then it wouldn't have a clock-face.

I have horses and my hands are constantly in water. I work hard out in the barn and this watch performs. The back light is probably what makes me the happiest as it works beautifully. I never take this off. I have showered with it, gone fishing and even swimming and it never misses a second. Would highly recommend this to anyone. Most importantly for me it is EASY to read!

This is a great watch for these bucks, is water proof and the only thing I did not like is because the glass is easy to scratch, so becareful when wearing it.
