4.0 out of 5 stars Great quality at a great price.
Let me start by saying that the only reason that I didn't give this watch a fifth star is for the features that I wish Casio would have offered in it. This may be unfair since, in and of itself, this is a great watch.

It is a mystery to me why Casio would produce a *mostly* stainless steel watch with a silver resin bezel and timepiece base. Why not go all...

2.0 out of 5 stars Not so waterproof after all
I purchased this watch because of the numerous features it has, it's purported toughness, and the reviews on amazon. Everything was great until a few days ago, when I wore the watch in the shower (supposed to be waterproof to 660 feet). I had worn it in the shower before with no problem, but this time, I noticed a little condensation under the face of the watch - and then...

Why not go all the way with the metal?!? That aside, the only other complaint that I have is that Casio doesn't offer the solar powered and atomic watch capabilities in watches sized for women.

Call me a geek but I love precision features! And I don't want to look like a guy while sporting said features. I'm an engineer and a new mom and this watch was the best fit for my current needs. Around Valentine's Day, my husband declared war on my dirty orange (but still sleek, feminine, and function rich) Timex Ironman watch. The problem with resin watches (other than black ones)is that the resin gets dirty and/or scraped over time. His suggestion was to find a new watch ... and fast. As mother to a newborn, I required even more precision features than ever. Timex Ironman would again have had my business but for their lack of non-resin women's Ironman watches.

Casio baby-G to the rescue! Things I swoon over about my pink baby-G:

1. Its pink face, surround, and el light.
2. Its metal watch and band ... well, mostly (refer to complaints above).
3. Its Daylight Savings Time feature ... very cool and ultra convenient.
4. Its second time zone.
5. It shows day and date along with the time (I wish it also showed month -- and year, for that matter).
6. Five alarms!
7. Beeps on the hour (optional but I like it on).
8. Zeroes out the seconds intelligently when setting the time to GMT.
9. Water resistant to 100m (very important during baby baths, spitup, and other liquid emergencies).
10. Relatively shockproof (I don't have to think twice about harming it).

In short, I want a watch that looks great, does its job (and a half), and requires very little maintenance on my part. This Casio offering is the best fit I've found and melds into all aspects of my life from working out to going out to my everyday mom duties. And best of all -- my husband loves it! Just last night he commented on how "pretty" it looks on me.

Casio, you did a great job on this design but you can do better. What is THE DEAL with the tiny parts of resin on this otherwise metal beauty??!!

P.S. I already told my husband that as soon as Casio makes a solar atomic watch for women, I will be sporting it on my wrist. Not bad for a woman who thought she'd be a lifelong Timex customer.

Let me just say WOW. I love this watch. I have always been a timex girl, until this watch caught my eye. I was very impressed when I recieved this watch. Its not big or bulky, and it has rugged durability with a touch of class. Only thing that irked me was the manual never told how to adjust the metal band! You have to take a paper clip and a little hammer to the pins to remove the links, but it was no problem to do, just follow the arrows.

I got this watch a couple of weeks ago and I love it! It is one of the few digital watches I found on the market that had a stainless steel band, which is great because those plastic or resin ones never seem to last. It is smaller than other of the Casio Baby G watches, also an excellent feature which makes the watch very wearable instead of bulky. The display is very easy to read and I like the pink face and purple backlight. Overall, this is an excellent watch with great features, and I would highly recommend it.

I had worn it in the shower before with no problem, but this time, I noticed a little condensation under the face of the watch - and then it was dead. Very disappointed; it was less than 30 days old so at least I can get a refund. It was a really cute watch though - oh well. I'll keep looking around.

I just got this watch, and let me tell you, my first reaction upon opening the box was, "Wow!" The pictures don't do it justice, it is very sleek and sporty and yet classy at the same time. I was considering a couple of others, but am very pleased with my choice.

I like this watch because it has a steel band and is also digital. There aren't many like this available for women. I must admit that I haven't had any problems seeing the time as others have. I like all the features on the watch and wear it everywhere; to work, school, the gym, etc. However, if you don't like bulkier watches then beware because this watch is small for all the features it has but is still a bit bulkier than normal women's watches. Enjoy!

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice watch, but no exactly what i have expected..., January 18, 2007
This review is from: Casio Women's MSG160D-4V Baby-G G-MS Pink Watch (Watch)
Excellent watch for the price, all the roughness of Casio Baby-G Series, very useful functions, and nicer looks than other sport-plastic-belted baby-g`s. But this is actually smaller than other baby-G`s. A little hard to read the numbers and information in it. I have bought many baby-g`s, and all the screen size are identicals, but not this one, so, a size reference (other standard baby-g, or a quarter coin) in the pictures of the product would be nice. Beside that... all great.

2.0 out of 5 stars Great Watch, Horrible Band, June 16, 2008
This review is from: Casio Women's MSG160D-4V Baby-G G-MS Pink Watch (Watch)
I bought this watch to wear while I worked in a restaurant kitchen. It was easy to read and had great timing features, plus it was waterproof. I loved the watch itslef. I had no problems until three months after I bought it. The pin of the clasp fell out and I lost it. I took it to a jewelers and they could not repair it without the pin. I exchanged it for a new one. The second one took 4 months to break at the clasp (same problem). I found the pin and was able to fix it. Three days later the pin at the watch (different spot) fell out and I lost it. I am hesistant to just replace the band for fear it will fall apart. The watch lived up to expectations but it is worthless because of the band.

4.0 out of 5 stars READ THIS FIRST before you buy this watch..., July 19, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Casio Women's MSG160D-4V Baby-G G-MS Pink Watch (Watch)

I was originally happy with this watch as quality "appeared" to be good. But I think you should note these before buying:

1) I wanted a water resistant watch and it was advertised as water resistant up to 600 feet. However when reading the manual I find that the manufacturer states that it is water resistant to the degree that you can wear it in light rain but not car washing. One reviewer here says it died when she wore it in the shower so I guess we know which statement is correct here. This is intentional misrepresentation of the product, and in itself is enough to not buy it, even if you are not a diver. Who knows what else is not as represented.

2) The watchband itself is very difficult to adjust, after having it adjusted 2x it is still not right. Also, now it keeps popping open and I am afraid I am going to lose the watch so I decided to just replace the band for one more comfortable and reliable. Well guess what? According to the two jewelers I went to it is not replacable unless I ship it to the manufacturer. Who has time for that sort of nonsense these days? That is the earmark of a "disposable" product, just cheap merchandise.

NOTE: I HAVE EDITED A PREVIOUS REVIEW. THE WEBSITE WOULD NOT LET ME CHANGE THE "STAR" RATING BUT I AM SO UNHAPPY WITH THIS PURCHASE THAT I WOULD GIVE IT 1-2 STARS!!!

My opinions that have not changed since my first review are below:
Other than the above, it was pretty easy to set the time and date and all that. I like the hourly "beep" to keep me on track. I have not tried the alarms yet but one night it started beeping none stop until I hit one of the buttons so I don't know what that was all about. I hope it doesn't turn into a problem.
This looks a bit larger than I had pictured but I still like the look of it. Sometimes it is hard to read but I love the pinkish face which makes it really different.

When I first saw this watch online, I liked the way it looked. It looks feminine and casual. The features are great, my husband is in the military so knowing the times from different countries is great, it has the option of military or standard time, it also has 4 different alarms, which with four boys and my husband, and I use 3 alarms. It has a backlight which looks lilac at night...I love that. The only thing about it was that I have skinny wrists and it was too big for me, but I was able to go to a jeweler and shorten it to my liking. Now, I always wear it. :)
