This product was of very poor quality. I returned it. The grills did not stay in position. The parts did not fit together very well.

Received hibachi in open torn box. One of the supports for the grates was broken and screws were loose in box. I returned it and asked for refund which Amazon did promptly.

Not crazy for the price $29.99, but hey, it's just what I was looking for! We grew up with the "hibachi" branded little hibachi, which this is exactly but without the name on it. The parts that hold it together are a little cheap, but the cast iron grills and firebox (the bottom part :-)) are nice! The wooden feet allow you to use on a raised surface with little fear of too much heat transference, but don't use above anything flammable (that you care deeply for) as the vents could let a little glowing coal or ember escape. I haven't timed how long the heat lasts, but it really lasts enough for more grilling even after four steaks. Just use caution to put your ashes in a fireproof container if you are emptying the same day!!
Cooks steaks quickly and gets a nice sear on them. What can I say, I grew up using these and they use less fuel (charcoal) and are nice for smaller groups and portability! Don't clean with soap and leave the seasoning on it for extra long lasting grill...also don't let it rust out...but if it does rust a little, a wipe with some oil or lard before you use it again and that will re-season it. I do have the Lodge sportsman hibachi as well as two of these, and I love using these for their light weight and how close the fuel is to the grill...and for a quick grill, they do the same job. The weight also makes for a safer transport! WAY better than any of the cheap painted steel miniature grills!!! You can even use it in cold weather...just takes a little longer for the coals to get going. Got this one to replace the original one we took to the lakehouse...that one has been used for over 20 years...sure the vents have rusted off but it works super and is built almost identically to this one.

Wound up getting two of these as was not at all happy with the poor workmanship in the manufacture of this Habachi Grill.
Assembled the best parts from both and still had to machine the openings of the grill holders in order for the grills to be used. Would definetly not recommend this item to anyone who does not posess the tools and skills to machine the parts.

I owned a Hibachi and Son of Hibachi in the pass. They were built with meat in them back then. This one is thin, light weight, however it does work well for us in travel, camping, when you just have to have a grilled steak. It comes unassembled.

This is a run-of-the-mill cheap hibachi - not cast iron.
Amazon did late delivery and hasn't returned any of extraordinary cost. This is last item I will ever buy from Amazon. |
