This review is from: Cast Your Net: A Step-by-Step Guide to Finding Your Soulmate on the Internet (Paperback)
After reading the last review from the man in Australia, I felt compelled to write my own review. I read the book from cover to cover and learned a great deal. It is a little dry in some places, but then again, what how-to book isn't. Overall, I'd strongly recommend this book because it gives MEAT rather than just fluff-for the person who really wants to find out how to do it right. Not many people have experience finding love on the Internet and with all the freaks out there, this book is better than any I've read on how to find a good, healthy partner and avoiding all the pit falls while doing so.

This review is from: Cast Your Net: A Step-by-Step Guide to Finding Your Soulmate on the Internet (Paperback)
This is a book for anyone who wants to know how to do it in detail. Lots of examples, questions to ask, and practical tips. Some very good stuff on protecting your privacy and security against any weirdos you might come across. Best of all, you don't have to know hardly anything about computers. And he's funny, too. Enjoyable and practical book that I'll use as a reference agaiin and again.

Eric Fagan Makes Finding Love Online Simple, Fun, and Easy,

This review is from: Cast Your Net: A Step-by-Step Guide to Finding Your Soulmate on the Internet (Paperback)
I hadn't heard of Eric Fagan before I picked up my copy of his comprehensive guide to internet dating at Amazon.com. If you're like me, you're not already familiar with Fagan. He's a trial attorney. More than 10 years ago now in the early days of Cyber Dating, Fagan dedicated himself to seriously seeking his Soul Mate online. He invested 10 power packed months to pursuing love online, contacted over 400 women, met 20 ladies, and finally found his Soul Mate in another state and married her.
In a way, "Cast Your Net" is a book with a Romantic Novel sub story woven through it and I could feel that in Fagan's writing style while he delivered clear, simple, and practical tips for seeking and finding love on the net. Clearly, Fagan has a great self-deprecating sense of humor which comes across in the many examples he provides throughout his comprehensive guide. Bear in mind, of course, this was published more than 10 years ago, and some of the social mores and behaviors of online singles have changed. Facebook and LinkedIn were not yet ubiquitous, and Yahoo! Personals is now defunct. 10 years ago cyber singles spent longer getting acquainted via email before the First Date. Still, when you select quality paid internet dating sites like those used by Fagan, you increase your chances of finding other singles who are serious about a relationship and not just looking to "kick it" and hang out on the weekend as their idea of a great date. As a Personal Dating Coach, one of the things Fagan did and recommends, I completely agreed with and rarely find in other dating advice books: Reflect On What You Want. He covers this in Chapter 1: Laying the Foundation. With literally millions of singles online seeking love, if you're not divorced or widowed, you still probably have had other prior relationships and can consider what worked and what didn't. Fagan combines both his own story with a few examples from other single men and women in this and each chapter. So, Cast Your Net is fundamentally always his path to romance with Ute, while still sharing some examples from other people's lives as well. This is not just another "One Man's Adventures in Cyber Dating" or some such. Fagan's internet dating book has substance to it as well as humor. One of my favorite of Fagan's chapters is his coverage of Long Distance Relationships. Since this is absolutely his story with what he did to find his own Soul Mate, he shares particulars that he followed. What I admire the most in his chapter on Long Distance Connection is his inclusion of a number of safety and security considerations which are still pertinent today with internet dating in age of Facebook. Remembering to be safe is always part of Smart Dating. Fagan covers approaching internet dating comprehensively in a way that is beneficial for all singles, always providing concrete examples to follow, and some humorously to avoid, all from his own experience of indeed finding his Soul Mate on the Net. Be safe, use Fagan's strategies, and you, too, could be finding the LTR you desire.
