Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com Review

Castanet and Bongo Programming seems to be aimed squarely at beginners--it even includes a Java primer in the appendix--but contains a surprising amount of depth, including a helpful chapter on channel security. Authors Neil Barlett and Steve Simkin take turns writing chapters, making for a tag-team approach that has a hard time keeping the reader's focus. Castanet and Bongo Programming mostly focuses on building Castanet channels, with enough Bongo thrown in to be useful. It is no substitute for a comprehensive guide to the Bongo class library.
