This review is from: Castle of Doves (Hardcover)
Charlotte was in love with her cousin Percy but he chose to marry Lucy for money instead. Charlotte's mother remarried and she can't stand her step-father so she decides to accompany her cousin and his wife to Spain. Charlotte has always wanted to go to Spain because her father was a soldier there during the war and instilled his love for the country in his daughter along with a fluent grasp of the language. Charlotte & co. meet the mysterious Don Lorenzo and his employee Guy on board the ship to Spain. Charlotte gets into trouble on her own and because of her cousin's foolishness but Lorenzo saves her. They become close and so do Lucy and Lorenzo's brother, Roberto. Percy is accused of treason and Lorenzo must save him by helping him escape from the country. Charlotte and Lucy are taken to Lorenzo's Castle of Doves for their own safety. Guy falls in love with Charlotte and proposes but she can't reciprocate his feelings. Charlotte and Lorenzo become close and inevitably fall in love but a secret from Charlotte's father's past threatens to destroy their chances at happiness.
