solid post-apocalyptic adventure tale,

This review is from: Castle Keeps (Paperback)
A straight forward post-apocalyptic tale of good (hyperviolent) people struggling against lawless masses.
Society has broken down, a rural family subsist on their well defended hilltop, ringed with electric fences and guarded by machine guns. Bored with rural life, the son leaves to explore the lawless city. He is the archetypal gunslinger, cool, emotionless and never missing. This tale does not comment on the post-apocalyptic world, other than that a fellow should be first to shoot and shoot to kill. More of an fun adventure story than sweeping post-apocalyptic tale like The Road, Malevil or Alas Babylon. |
