Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Bought this book without knowing anything about it since there were no reviews or descriptions (just buying books by this author) so my review isn't very fair on that basis. Only really read the first chapter --- widow with hellish first marriage finally free and trying to help out her brother who is in trouble. Anyway, here's the synopsis from the back of the book:

At long last she was returning home. Isabel could hardly wait to see her beloved Scotland again. But when she arrived she found her family riddled with treachery, her father dying, a vicious heir seizing power, and her gentle brother Duncan outlawed and in hiding, accused of a foul crime. Sure of Duncan's innocence, Isabel tried hopelessly to convince the man she loved --- James MacLeod, a ruthless chieftain who believed in Duncan's guilt and swore he's make him pay. Isabel knew who would have to choose between the bond of blood and the bond of love --- but either way meant heartbreak!
