I readily admit to being a die-hard Castle fan, and I'll buy anything that comes out with Castle's name on it. The story was about what I expected from a Richard Castle plot - a little over the top, kind of goofy, and doesn't take itself very seriously, but still well-written and entertaining. The art, not surprisingly, was flawless; I wouldn't expect less from Brian Michael Bendis. I'd love to see more of the Derrick Storm novels come out, whether in text or in graphic novel form.

I'm so glad I ordered this comic book! The art work is amazing, the story is great and I think it was very smart of ABC to publish a Derrek Storm graphic novel. It's great to have a condensed version of Deadly Storm and I really hope they make a Derrek Storm comic book series. A must have for Castle fans. It's a great addition to my DVD and Nikki Heat collection.

Life is too short to spend too much time watching TV, but "Castle" has become a favorite, probably because I, too, am a professional writer -- although not a mystery writer like the fictitious Richard Castle. It has been amusing to read the novel spin-offs from the TV show, and now this unique comic book version, which is funny, attention-grabbing and entertaining. A fine addition to my overgrown book case.

I think this book is amazing because it has been written very well and it's simple to be read. I'm italian but despite that I have understood the whole book easily. So I recommend this book to anyone who likes graphic novels and above all who likes Castle. If you really like Castle I recommend also Heat Wave, Naked Heat and Heat Rises. Here are the links. Heat Rises (Nikki Heat 3)Calor desnudo (Naked Heat Nikki Heat Series Spanish Edition)Heat Wave Premium Edition (Nikke Heat 1)

First, I enjoy the concept of Deadly Storm, it is a re-launch of a fictional character, Derek Storm, who is killed by its author, Richard Castle (portrayed by Nathan Fillion), in ABC's Castle. So all we know about Derek Storm is that he worked for the CIA and died because R. Castle was bored with him.

With that premise, I had no idea what I was getting into when my copy arrived. As a stand alone work I very much enjoyed the plot (no spoilers here), and most of the character development. The one exception is the character of Derek Storm, himself. There did not appear to be anything great about him. He's a bumbling detective who can barely pay his bills, and can't let things go once he is intrigued. Then he has a couple encounters with CIA agent, Clara Strike. She hires Storm they bump into each other a couple of times, and does not have a deep relationship with her, until she makes a choice that saves Storm's life but costs Strike her own life. After that Storm gets his act together and is set to become an excellent CIA contractor.

As a merchandising effort for the Castle TV show this book is a great product. The comic book "adaptors" Brian Bendis, Kelly DeConnick, and, Lan Medina, do an incredible job of capturing Nathan Fillion's portrayal of the character Richard Castle as the original author. So if you are a fan of the TV show, you will believe that Richard Castle created it. The one liners, the "you know this how" elements all ring true to the show.

So,if you enjoy graphic novels you will enjoy this work, if you are a fan of the show, you will have a great read ahead of you.

As a fan of the show Castle I have heard so much about his first big series character Derrick Storm. When the first season starts we find out that Castle has killed off his money making character, Derrick Storm, and he begins to shadow a female New York city cop who becomes his new big character Nikki Heat. As the show progresses we the viewer get to learn little bits and pieces of the Derrick Storm story line.Marvel comics has put together a graphic novel which gives us the first chapter in the Derrick Storm series.

Now I will be honest here, I am a comic book nerd and I am a big fan of the show, so getting to step into the fictional world of Derrick Storm in comic book form was a must for me. Even though Richard Castle is a fictional character himself, the way he describes Storm in the show makes him the kind of character you have known forever but, never actually met. This was a lot of fun to read and I would recommend it to anyone who is a fan of the show.

Another Christmas gift for my wife, but I find I am reading these Derek Storm & Nikki Heat books as well faster than she is. This graphic novel is based on the very 1st Derek Storm novel, written by TV character Richard Castle (ABC's "Castle"). The very first Castle episode featured the author killing off his bread & butter character Derek Storm (claiming he was bored with the character). Then he got involved with Lt. Kate Beckett, who became Nikki Heat in the novels he was writing on the show. This graphic novel was also mentioned on one show.

So what is Deadly Storm? A graphic novel from Marvel Comics that shows us readers just how Derek Storm got started on the road to fame and fortune. As I have remarked on my reviews of the 3 Derek Storm short-stories, reading these Derek Storm stories gets us readers more involved in the TV show's characters. They are fun reads and not to be taken too seriously. I mean the author is a character on a TV show for goodness sakes. I will get my wife the 2nd Derek Storm graphic novel for her birthday in March: Castle: Richard Castle's Storm Season.
