Ann Westerberg is a Colorado native, born in Denver. She edited the church and club sections for The Denver Post for two summers as a child and has written freelance travel articles and personal essays for both The Post and The Christian Science Monitor. She was editor and writer for The Denver Jazz Club News for over ten years.

This book is a tour guide to some truly wonderful places in Colorado. There are pictures, stories of the castles themselves, their ghosts and scandals. Included are fourteen castles that presently stand; some are open to tours and some are private. There are also descriptions of five that no longer stand, including great pictures I had never seen before of the ice palace in Leadville and pictures of the Presidential Summer Palace that never got beyond the drawing board.

Great book- lovely color photos of each castle. Very well-researched book. The author really did a great and very thorough job. I love the fact that the author adds in some known hauntings of some of the castles. Some that I didn't even know myself! I was very impressed with this book. Highly recommended.
