I am a modeler and wished to have the backdrop of a Scottish castle for use in a diorama. The cutout castle was exactly what I had in mind. The construction is easy and can be accomplished with a minimum of effort.

Most interesting four page history of the two castles. I will enjoy painting, cutting, scoring, and gluing. What a wonderful way to emphasize important locations, dates, and personalities.

Castles of Scotland,

I purchased this to put together with my grandson. I expected to do most of the work but this has been a challenge. I glued all the pieces on to something sturdier. Once I cut them out, the instructions which weren't much to begin with were cut away. There wasn't a picture of the complete castle so with few instructions and no picture to go by... it was worse. It didn't cost much but I would be very aggravated if I had paid more for it.

The pages of this book are just a little thicker than the 24# bond (75.2gsm) paper used in printers for everyday use. Not very sturdy at all. The caliper reading for the pages indicates 28# bond (105.35gsm). The castle parts are low resolution black and white prints. Some of the parts for the castles span more than one page and have a fold and staple holes in the middle of the part. I have purchase cut and assemble books with castles before that were printed on sturdy cardstock. This book gets two stars instead of one because it did have a castle in it.
