5.0 out of 5 stars Extraordinary - stands the test of time
This is a great collection for any fan, or someone new to Tonic who wants to check out a variety of their songs from different albums. Almost anyone will remember one of their biggest hits "If You Could Only See", and you'll probably also recognize "You Wanted More" from the American Pie soundtrack as the only tune off the soundtrack that was released as a single. "Irish"...

3.0 out of 5 stars Tonic A Casual Affair The Best of Tonic CD DVD
So nice to finally get Tonic music videos released on DVD. Unfortunately, I guess that Polydor / UMe couldn't fit the other version of the "Open Up Your Eyes" music video on the bonus DVD, what with the other 5 whole music videos on there and all... *rolls eyes*

"Irish" was a huge crowd pleaser when they were touring, and it took a couple of years for them to finally put it on their last studio release in 2002.

I've been listening to them steadily since I was 15 or 16(which is scary being I'm 29 now) with their first album release. I grew as a fan as time went by, and it would be nearly impossible for me to name a favorite album or song, as there are many and it depends on the day of the week. Their musical outlook seemed to flex and change throughout the years, but at the heart you can always tell it is this amazing trio of musicians and most definitely the Tonic sound. I think the music can span and dabble in a few genres from pop to rock to a little bit of a country flare now and then, and is worth checking out for any music lover. Once you hear this, you'll most definitely want to get the other albums in their entirety.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Retrospective From A Classic Band, January 5, 2010
I agree with the last reviewer. This is a great collection of songs from one of the great bands. I am also about to turn 30 and remember listening to bands in the 90's like Tonic, Live, Everclear, Stroke 9, Vertical Horizon, Gin Blossoms, Goo Goo Dolls, etc. It makes me feel old to see that most of these bands are now releasing Greatest Hits. As a collector and Mobile DJ, it's great to know i don't have to carry every single album by these groups. i have all their best in one place.

For me, all of these songs are great and I don't have one song I can say is the best because they are all great. I personally like the Acoustic version of "You Wanted More". One song I wish they would have included was their tune "Do You Know" from the "Head On Straight" release. I guess i'm picky like that but this is a definitely a CD any Tonic fan should add to their collection. Pick up the Emerson Hart solo CD while you're at it too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tonic cd dvd, November 7, 2011

This review is from: A Casual Affair: The Best of Tonic (Deluxe Edition CD/DVD) (Audio CD)
Refreshing band that keeps writing songs with meaning and worthwhile subject! The DVD was short with just a few of the hit songs videos. Wish they had a live DVD as this would again show how underrated they really are :-)

5.0 out of 5 stars TESTAMENT TO A VERY UNDERRATED BAND, October 22, 2010
Three of the fifteen songs are bonus tracks, consisting of previously unreleased live versions of "Sugar" and "Irish," as well as an acoustic version of "You Wanted More."

The only song missing that I personally enjoy is "Future Says Run," but there's still enough material here to make this album worth purchasing.
