I bought the kit a few weeks ago. I did as instructed, except I placed a plastic baggie over the top to make a little greenhouse. Now I have DOZENS of baby catnip plants. The kit arrived promptly and has met all my expectations.

I normally grab this item at the local pet store and my cats (and carpets) absolutely love it.

A couple months ago, I purchased a couple boxces from Amazon to fill out a shopping cart. Bad move. Not only did neither box grow a single blade of grass, but one of them spoiled and smelled horrible for a day or so.

Amazon's excellent customer service jumped in and sent two more boxes last week for no charge. When I saw the dates on the box were different, I was relieved and expected to have grass growing any day. I was wrong. Something is not right with Amazon's supply. Not a single blade of grass from four boxes now.

Spend the extra couple of bucks and pick this stuff up locally. You cats (and dogs) will thank you.

I kill plants, this one has survived so far. That makes it a win in my book. The instructions were easy, and it's growing quickly even after a replanting. I highly recommend!

product comes with water absorbing crystals. If you add too much water they expand to over twice the container size. never did get to see if it would grow other wise.

The catnip was slow growing at first. The seeds sprouted in the little container after about two weeks. At one month I transplanted it to a bigger pot and now it is growing like crazy. I'm very happy and so are my cats.

Got this item because it had Prime shipping on it despite the other two negative reviews. Tried it out, actually worked just fine. Since cats don't really like old grass and mostly like to eat young grass, this worked perfectly. I put water in it and let it sprout, which it did fairly successfully. It grew much more than I thought it would after a week.

My cat munched on it and looked fairly satisfied, and vomited up a bunch of grass later to thank me, which I pretty much expected. For those of you buying pet grass, you should note that cats appear to be designed to vomit grass, food, water, dust, and fur. But grass will probably add more vomiting, even though they like to eat it.

This box sprouted fine, cat liked it fine, price was ok. I'd get it again, it was hassle free, and i'm lazy, I threw the whole box out when the grass got old enough that the cat wouldn't eat it anymore.

Within a month or two I had counted about 60 lil catnip plants growing. But, the instructions suck. This was my first time growing anything before. I had to look up on the internet why my catnip plants started to not do so well. I learned that they were growing long and spindly from not getting enough sun. And that I was watering them wrong with too much water at a time. Plus I waited waay too long to replant and separate them.

This is kind of a ripoff. What you get is around 70-80 seeds and a tiny cup of dirt. Looking on amazon, I could buy 400 catnip seeds for around $2-3, a bag of potting soil for $3 and a small pot, but larger than the cup, for a buck.

I wouldn't buy this product again if it was 'free'... I followed the directions to the letter, and all I got was a sterile cup of soil that ended up molding over time. When I tried to contact Gimborn Pet Specialties about it, noone ever responded to my emails or letters...

I have used this product for years and have been generally satisfied with it. However, out of the last five containers I have purchased only one has produced grass as expected. It was from Pet Smart dated 2009. They were purchased from Pet Smart(2), Pet Supermarket (2) and Amazon (1). Only one from Pet Smart was usable last year and the other four were purchased after that container, the last from Amazon. All except the (2) from Pet Smart were dated 5/2011.
I recently sent a letter to Gimborn detailing my experience, with pictures of the failed containers. They contacted my by phone and said their customer service rep is on vacation and will contact me upon her return. Hopefully she can offer an explanation as to why all of a sudden their product is failing and offer me a replacement that works.

I read many reviews of those who were disappointed in the grass, but, mine sprouted on the third day, and now, on the fifth day, it is thriving. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS, and don't overwater. The seeds need to go through a germanation process, and while it seems like the soil should be moister, it works the way the manufacturer states.

Another tip is to keep it out of direct sunlight, but, you still want some light, so, i put mine on window pane with vertical blinds, and only let a little light in so it wouldn't be fried, but, had the light it needed.

I would recommend this product for our kittie kids, because, greens really help with digestion. This is a marvelous way to give them both the recreation of discovering the green stuff, but, digesting the healthy addition to their diets, if you have indoor cats, like I do.

I Think it was a great product at a low price, and I will reorder.
