I bought this book at the same time as I bought Pam Johnson's "Twisted Whiskers," & although Johnson's book is good, it's not as helpful as this book. The "Cat Behavior Answer Book" gave me a more thorough discussion of issues, & more specific solutions than Johnson's book. One of my cat's issues is night-time meowing, which wakes me up, & Moore's book helped me solve the problem more than Johnson's book did.

This is not the most amazing cat book ever. It is just another cat book. All these super positive reviews made me hope I would find answers that I haven't been able to find in dozens of other cat books, but within seconds, I knew this wasn't the book either. I looked up "spraying" in the index and all I got was Feliway for an answer, which I don't believe really works. It doesn't work on any of my eight cats. And medication, but doesn't say what medication. Just go to the vet. Gee, thanks. Like I couldn't figure that out.

As soon as "The Cat Behavior Answer Book" arrived from Amazon.com, my first thought -- even though it was a peculiar thought at the moment -- was that it would fit easily into my purse. It's not too big and bulky and, to my surprise, the durability of the cover deems it practically indestructible. That means it won't get tattered and torn in my "everything-but-the-kitchen-sink" cluttered purse. I normally take a book everywhere I go so I'll have something to read while waiting for appointments, etc. This book has been my traveling buddy all week. In fact, I could hardly put it down from beginning to end!

The amazing thing about Moore's words (the book is in question and answer format . . . which I really liked) is that I felt as if she was talking to ME personally regarding many of the questions and answers in her book. Just when I thought I knew a lot about felines, Arden Moore has shown me how much "Moore" I have to learn.

Finally, it's not a one-time-only read like many of the books I purchase. "The Cat Behavior Answer Book" might not live out its entire life in my messy purse, but I'm sure it will be nearby every time I need an answer to a critical kitty question. I recommend that all cat aficionados purchase this book! Every question and answer imaginable can be found within its pages. A "Must-Have" for every cat owner...

Need help trying to understand your cat? This book may or may not help, but it is full of interesting items that I had wondered about. I did not find some of the specific behavior problems that I was looking for, but I did find a usefull guide to understanding some of the bizarre behavior of my feline friend. There is a good section on how cats communicate through tail movements. This may or may not be a relavent book for problem solving, but it was interesting information.

Not what I was looking for. I've been a companion to cats for over 30 years and wanted to understand how to really take it to the next level: interpreting my kitty's meows, understanding her moods, learning how to be the best pal I could be to my BFF. This book did not provide much more than overviews. The "overview" on meow-types was very paltry and did not even mention the type of sound my cat makes when she leaves a "gift" by my door. (She's an indoor cat, but I hide a toy with cat treats in it every night and she finds it and brings it to my bedroom door as a gift. Too sweet.) I think this book would be best for brand new cat owners---I mean companions.

This book has answers to questions even your veterinarian may not know! Highly recommended for anyone who loves cats and for those who may not due to lack of understanding! Heidi Pavia-Watkins, DVM

THE CAT BEHAVIOR ANSWER BOOK covers everything from fabric-sucking fetishes to noisy cats, droolers, and cats that beg for food. Libraries will find the sidebars of detail and the easy question-and-answer format lend to quick and easy consultation by busy patron cat owners.

I read this book cover to cover. It is funny, educational, and gets right to the point. This is a great book for any cat lover.

This compact, readable book is the owner's manual for your cat. Arden Moore is a life-long cat lover and the editor of the excellent _Catnip_ newsletter. She combines her feelings for cats and her technical expertise in this book.

The focus of the book is on behavior-related issues that can cause cat owners-- and, of course, cats-- major problems if they are not appropriately dealt with. As the author points out, cats are not only mysterious, they are masters at concealing their true states of being and at manipulating the humans around them. This means that a cat can be having serious-- even life-threatening-- problems without exhibiting any signs that might indicate what's happening.

The book is arranged very clearly as sets of questions and answers that deal with all aspects of cat ownership and care, including feeding, litter box issues, healthy care, appropriate toys, etc. Many answers deal with safe and effective ways to break cats of habits that are natural to them, but annoying or destructive to us.

The book's organization makes it possible to read cover to cover, to search for specific information, or to simply browse. The tone is just right: technical enough to be informative and authoritative, yet informal enough to avoid being intimidating.

This is a book for cat owners who want to make sure that their cats are healthy and happy-- and that that they aren't driven crazy by their cat's behavior. I recommend it most highly.
