5.0 out of 5 stars Newly designed Trick-a-ma-Stick works much better!
Hi everyone,
My name is Jacobe Chrisman and I own the company, I Can Do That! games, which makes and sells this Cat in the Hat game. First, I want to thank everyone for all the amazing reviews you've given us. I also wanted to let you know that we've heard your feedback and agree that the construction of the foam bar or Trick-a-ma-stick in the game could be better...

3.0 out of 5 stars Great concept, could use improvements, not the right age group
My 4yr old son recently got this game as a birthday gift. The concept for this game has a lot of potential, the makers just failed to realize all of it. The pieces are a bit flimsy and there are not enough cards. We played with three people and we went through all the cards really fast. Even though the cards get mixed and matched each time, there are not enough to...

Hi everyone,
My name is Jacobe Chrisman and I own the company, I Can Do That! games, which makes and sells this Cat in the Hat game. First, I want to thank everyone for all the amazing reviews you've given us. I also wanted to let you know that we've heard your feedback and agree that the construction of the foam bar or Trick-a-ma-stick in the game could be better. Consequently, we designed a new foam bar which is one single piece that forms an arch instead of a square. This new single-piece foam bar makes it incredibly easy to setup and, most importantly, does not come apart during game play. Don't worry, we tested this thoroughly. If you look at the current image of the game, you'll see that the foam bar is now a single-piece arch instead of a multi-piece square. This new design works perfectly with the game play as well.

I'm sorry that some of you have had troubles with the previous foam bar.

To fix this, I would love to replace those original foam bars with the new and improved design for FREE. Simply email games(at)icandothatgames(dot)com and we will promptly ship you a new foam bar at no charge. Please mention you read about this on Amazon.

For people buying this game right now, I should mention that this new single-piece foam bar is included in ALL of the games going forward.

I want to thank everyone for buying the game and of course, providing invaluable feedback on our games. This game has won over 12 major awards from Parents Choice, Oppenheim, Dr. Toy, National Parenting Center and many more award programs. We're extremely proud of our game and work tirelessly to ensure the kids and parents who play this and all of our games love them as much as we do. I hope this new design helps you have the ideal play experience you deserve.

thanks everyone, Jacobe

5.0 out of 5 stars Silly, Seuss-y Fun, December 13, 2007
= Durability:3.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:4.0 out of 5 stars
I picked this up for my son for his 5th birthday. He is SO happy with it! He loves having little "challenges" to complete, loves the props, loves getting up and doing something rather than just sitting there.

The activity level of this game is reasonably high, so be prepared to get up and move somehow for each of your turns. And also be prepared to leave any inhibitions about movement behind as you try to do things like jump up and down while holding a prop under your chin, or crawl around while holding a different prop under your clothes.

Be prepared for lots of smiles and laughs, from both you and your kiddos! A fun game, and I'd definitely buy it again! Now I'm wishing Amazon carried the other 2 Dr. Seuss games, Sing your Heart Out and You to the Rescue.

My 4yr old son recently got this game as a birthday gift. The concept for this game has a lot of potential, the makers just failed to realize all of it. The pieces are a bit flimsy and there are not enough cards. We played with three people and we went through all the cards really fast. Even though the cards get mixed and matched each time, there are not enough to give the game any real variety. We played the game twice in a row the first time and my 8yr old complained that several times the same person was drawing the same combination they did the game before. I think the ages for this game would be better for 3-5 yr olds than for those 4-8. I am going to make up my own cards to add to the mix which will save this game for our family. Without them I think it will get old really quick.

I bought this game for my niece (age 6) and nephew (4) and we had a blast playing it over the weekend. The game is infused with Seuss silliness and lots of fun physical activity. What I loved most was that it gives each child their little moment in the spotlight as they act out the activities on the cards and show everyone what they can do. I also loved the reinforcement of numbers, colors, counting, and puzzle solving. I highly recommend this game!

My four year old loves playing this game and enjoys acting out the instructions. Our only issue is that the "trick a ma stick," which is needed for much of the game, is very flimsy and falls apart each time we set it up.

I bought this for my son and I thought it was too good to be true! My son is 4 and has autism. This game is wonderful for any child (my typical 2 year old can do it and LOVES it!) but it is the perfect game for teaching a child with autism to follow directions. We started out just having him do one thing at a time, quickly moved to using 2 cards, and are now on using 3. It has been such a wonderful addition to our therapies that we do with him and he has so much fun playing it. My only complaint is that my two year old easily ripped the foam thing-a-ma-stick (I think that's what it's called) but the toy is recommend for 4 and up anyway. If you are considering this game for your typical child or your child with special needs I would say go for it. I mentioned the game to both his speech therapist and occupational therapist and they have both gone out and bought it to use with kids they see for therapy with rave reviews. A++++

My daughters who are 4 1/2 and 6 1/2 got this for Christmas. We have played it twice so far. What a cute fun way to play a game. We all just love that you got up and moved while doing silly things. What kid doesn't like to be silly? The Trick-a-ma-stick is flimsy but it's supposed to be. My 6 year old discovered that if we spread the legs out a little bit further it stayed up well though it did still wobble. We wish there were a few more cards so each round would last a little longer and there would be a little more variation in actions to take. Overall, a great game!

This game is frequently chosen for family game night around here. It gets everyone moving and the kids think it is hilarious! As someone who loved Cat in the Hat as a kid, the game is also just visually fun. Each piece is straight out of the book! Everything has held up great after many rounds. I love how the box closes up and you can store it without worrying about the lid falling off/open. We have a couple of the other Dr Seuss games in this series and they all see a lot action. Great for kids who have some energy or need some energy!

My son is turning 4 next month and he LOVES this game. We just got it 2 days ago and we've played it multiple times and he keeps on asking for more. I love how it is a great, positive, confidence-builder game with the "I can do that" little tasks it asks you to do. It's also good with counting 1-2-3's and then counting again at the end with the stars. We've had a lot of fun with this so far. A great family game.

This is a fun game for little guys who can't sit still long enough for some other games. The pictures on the cards become recognized, which should lead to recognition of the words, and they have to count up their points at the end. That's it for educational value. It's a fun, silly game for very young players.
