They're sad when spring comes, until they learn about the indoor rink, where they sign up to be extras in an ice show. Just as the spotlight shines on Cat, he breaks into a spin and then an unexpected fall, which ultimately steals the show. The basic rhyming text scans nicely and is printed in large type just right for new readers. But it's the hilarious, exuberant pictures that will capture children, pulling them back to the compelling words with brightly colored action and outrageous expression.
