I have three of her books in this format and my review for each of them is basically the same:
They are all Excellent! Beautiful pictures and patterns - small and large. Only one pattern has a cat in it and that part of the pattern can easily be omitted or changed if you want. She breaks the patterns apart to give you single and mutli color options, very nice. The patterns in this book are very unique, and some are quite complex. Close-ups of the quilting are shown. Information and meaning about the design is given for each pattern. Instructions for those who don't know how to applique' are very clear. You will want to grab some fabric and start cutting and sewing right away.

This is another wonderful book by Elizabeth Root with excellent Hawaiian quilt patterns. The designs can be made in any size from pillow to large wall size with enlarging. The cats are not part of the patterns but fabric photos or applique of cats on top of the Hawaiian designs would be really special.
Also look at her books on Menehune(little designs) and Patchwork Pillows.

This hawaiian quilt applique book provides pictures and patterns for making interesting, nature oriented hawaiian quilts. You can adapt the patterns to basic applique, make different size quilts and use the motifs for specialized projects. Don't be surprised, there are few pictures of cats. I can't wait to make a few myself.
