This device pretty much solved the problem of providing subcutaneous hydation to my cat. He cannot jump away and it is easy to inject him with a needle. It is, although, a bit difficult to zip the zipper, without catching the cat's fur. I purchased the medium size, listed for a 5-10 lb. cat. As he is 8 lbs., I thought that was correct. It would have been easier to place him in the sack and zip it up if I had purchased the large size.

This has been a great product for giving my cat subq. fluids. It is normally a two person job, but this has allowed me to do it by myself. I do think it runs a little small, so suggest sizing up for ease in putting cat into the sack.

The cat sack is very helpful in administrating fluids to my cat. The medium size is very small so I reccomend buying the large sack instead. My cat currently weighs 7lbs 2 oz down from 10lbs.

We bought the large sized version of this bag for one of our cats (13 lbs.) who really hates going to the vet, so much so that it had gotten to the point where he turns into such a wildcat that our vet honestly has no choice but to anesthetize him before they could do an exam, give him annual vaccinations, or anything else (a pre-visit oral tranquilizer didn't help). As an example of how uncooperative our little feline can be, when we picked him up after his last overnight vet visit we couldn't help but notice the handmade "Caution - Dangerous!" sign the clinic techs had fashioned for his kennel (instead of bringing him out they asked us to take him out of the kennel ourselves). While he's not the most sociable cat we've ever had, he's usually fairly relaxed at home. But even we were a bit scared to try and handle him after he got himself worked into a frenzy at the vet.
The Cat Sack, in conjunction with a pre-visit oral tranquilizer and application of a nylon muzzle just prior to entering the clinic, worked great! (although it did elicit a few stares on our way in). Not only was our feline much more relaxed both before and during his visit, he was also less agitated after we got home, and no one ended up getting bit or scratched. Other than a little growling and a little squirming during his shots, the visit was pretty much a non-event. Our vet thought it was such a great product she asked to take our little "package" around to show the other personnel at the clinic and wanted to know where we bought it. Although we've only used it once so far, we're *very* encouraged and aren't dreading the next visit like we had been, and feel like our little guy won't be nearly as stressed by it either. It was well worth the $$ and less expensive (and safer) than the anesthesia alternative. We're very happy with this product.

This product is very difficult to use especially with an alive cat. There are too many ways for the cat to resist being put into this device and it made my cat very, very angry. Definitely didn't live up to the expectations I had when reading the description of the product.

My aging 14+ yr old Manx has a problem with her claws overgrowing, so they require frequent trimming. However, to say that she doesn't cooperate in this procedure is an understatement. In spite of her slight build, she turns into a feline Cuisinart -- impossible to manage and dangerous to MY health. I had to take her to the vet for her trims, and the vet had to knock her out to accomplish them! Stressful for her, stressful for me, and expensive to pay the vet. Then my daughter-in-law gave me a Cat Sack. What a Godsend! It's easy to put the cat into the sack (catching her is another matter - LOL) and, in combination with a fabric cat muzzle, I am now able to trim her claws myself with a minimum of fuss. The cat still doesn't LIKE having her claws trimmed, but it's FAR less stressful for both of us now. I'm sure the bag would be really handy for other "procedures" as well, like administering meds and sub-q fluids. If your cat is the uncooperative type, The Cat Sack is a worthwhile investment! (Note: I don't know what size mine is, but both my 15-pound DSH and my little 6-pound Manx fit in it -- one at a time, of course -- although the larger cat is a bit of a cram job.)

I cannot overstate how thankful I am for this product. Our cat Tuppy needed subcutaneous fluids at least three times a week. Try as we did, we were unable to accomplish this at home. Going to the vet 3x per week was expensive, and Tup really hated leaving the house.

Despite having researched on Google and watched several Youtube videos, we were not able to keep Tuppy calm enough to do sub-q at home. Eventually, however, we discovered this product and it's made all the difference in the world. It's well designed and we are able now to give Tup fluid (100 ml) every night. (The zipper above the shoulders allows the access we need.) She doesn't enjoy it, but she's a healthier, happier cat whether she knows it or not.
