Totally perfect! I love Jane and have read all the other books in the series and this book is perfectly timed just before the release of Raven Cursed. It gives exactly the back-story you want to know about Jane and Rick after reading the last book 'Mercy Blade'. I can't wait for Jan. 3rd!

I have been waiting with great anticipation for this ebook to be able to delve more deeply into the world of Jane Yellowrock and get to know more about her background. The details of Jane's early years help to enrich the current story and the sections featuring Ricky Bo give the reader a more detailed picture of the man who captured a part of Jane's heart. Ricky's POV adds more layers and an important dimension to his relationship with Jane most especially his emotions and perspective upon meeting Jane again after his whole life and world have been ripped apart. This part of Cat Tales is a good bridge and a revs up the excitement and anticipation for Raven Cursed. I am sure that any Jane Yellowrock fan will be very pleased with these companion stories.

These four stories fill in the gaps I didn't know were there.

Story 1 is Jane, newly graduated, not yet a Merc. She meets Molly for the first time.
Story 2 is how Ricky Bo got his cat tattoos, and a little backstory on him. We learn he could have been a werewolf, maybe, too, but Fortune was cast otherwise....
Story 3 is how Jane saved Angie Baby, and endeared herself to Molly forever.
Story 4 is Ricky Bo's experiences as a botched Were Cat.

Excellent stories! Get it. They'll fill in the gaps!

Faith Hunter, urban fantasy writer, was born in Louisiana and raised all over the south. Hunter fell in love with reading in fifth grade, and best loved SciFi, fantasy, and gothic mystery. She decided to become a writer in high school, when a teacher told her she had talent. Now, she writes full-time and works full-time in a hospital lab, (for the benefits) tries to keep house, and is a workaholic with a passion for travel, jewelry making, white-water kayaking, and writing. She and her husband love to RV, traveling with their dogs to whitewater rivers all over the Southeast.

Her Rogue Mage novels, a dark, urban fantasy series--Bloodring, Seraphs, and Host--feature Thorn St. Croix, a stone mage in a post-apocalyptic, alternate reality, urban fantasy world.
