Works well at dusk on the bike trail or road.

Quality plastic has been used in its construction and I'm pretty sure it will last for few years at least on my handle bar .

The light is also strong enough to show you the road ahead too.

I bought this to replace my china made bike light ... this light is all about reliability and comfort , It DOES have a blinker mode , all you need to do is to Double Tap the button at the back and it will start blinking ... another single press to activate constant Low or high mode ... press and hold for 2 seconds and it turns off ... simple and elegant solution.

It could be a little brighter for my liking but I'm really fine with what it does. It runs on AA batteries so I can use my own rechargeable ones. Quality plastic has been used in its construction and I'm pretty sure it will last for few years at least on my handle bar . Thank you Cateye for another great product.

Pros:
- runs on 2 AA.
most of other lights over this brightness need 4 AA or rechargeable battery.

- battery indicator
I don't need to carry spare battery.

- bright til battery runs out
there is some circuit to keep brightness until very end.

Cons:
- cant change width of light

There are some brighter light available above $50 but I think this is bright enough. 2 AA is really convenient for me.

Finally a light that not only lights up the road, but with the blinking and low beam setting. You can choose how much light you need which in turn will save your batteries. One thing I have noticed, however, is that the instruction from CatEye, say that the battery life is only 2 hours on high. This is wrong. Using 2700mAh AA rechargable batteries I had good light for 5 hours 20 minutes, before the low battery indicator came on. I have yet to try said light with non rechargable, because I hardly us ethem any more.

Battery replacement is easy, but do keep ahold of both parts of the light, it comes apart easy. You may need something to pry the batteries out with, they fit tight.

As for the mount, yes the "threads" are plastic, but you can order a more stable mount from CatEye. Dont dam the light cause the mount is bad. Just dont over tighten the bracket, and wrap some electrical tape where you will install the bracket then it wont move.

All in all I am impressed with this light so much that instead of using three headlights. I now feel comfortable using just one.

This is a very nice light for it size. Dimensions are compact and it accepts regular batteries. The beam works great for distances about 15 to 20 feet away and intensity falls off somewhat after that. It has really helped navigate road conditions on Staten Island in New York where the streets are in poor condition and lighting is inadequate despite a semi-urban environment. I have found that CatEye consistently produces solid products with good attention to detail.

The light works great, but the attachment bracket is weak and wont last. Mine broke after about 6months of use.

I was moving the light from one bike to another. I am disappointed. Not a good buy.

Look at the picture and you can see there is a flexible plastic strap with threads. Well, after a while the plastic is not so flexible. and snap. Your bike light just turned into a flash light.

You can buy a replacement strap for 5$. Or spend your money on a different light, many Cateye lights have this attachment method though, so look closely at the picture.

I practice MTB, so sometimes your trip finish at night. In those cases, and if you use your bicycle like a transport every day, this flashlight works very well.
