IMPORTANT NOTE!,

This review is from: CatEye Loop Bicycle Light - SL-LD110 (Misc.)
I like this product. It works well, especially because I kept losing taillights as my lock (strapped around my seat post) kept knocking them off. So this works well as it's almost flush with the frame when strapped on. The overall functionality is great and it's nice and bright.
One thing left me VERY frustrated with the light, however, and it almost made me throw it in trash. IT TURNS OFF AFTER 30 SECONDS! But wait ...I went online and found instructions on the manufacturer website to disable this 'feature'. It's also buried in the Amazon description above. "TRY ME Note: Product must be taken out of Try Me retail demonstration mode. Press and hold button until rapid flashing is observed (10 or more seconds). This mode is designed to save battery and automatically turns product off after 30 seconds. " Perhaps knowing this info before ordering will make your experience more positive, since you won't have to wonder if your light is defective. On one hand, it might have been printed on the cardboard package --but at the same time, why should a tiny device with one huge button require extra reading to learn how to use it? I turned it on, tore it out of the package and figured that was that. I wish they'd had this information loud and clear as I thought I had to get yet another new light ...Good luck and enjoy yours!

This is the first LED bike light I've bought. I wanted a light that had longer battery life than my "regular" light. My other one uses 4AA batteries and wears out every time I turn it on (or at least it seems like that).
I bought this LED light a couple months ago, and have used it for 6 hours or so, and it is still going strong. The on/off button doesn't always respond right away, and it sometimes requires two clicks. It is really bad for biking in pitch black (got caught out later than I thought). We were on a bike trail, so I wasn't particularly worried about getting hit by someone, but I could not see the pot holes, etc. I've read elsewhere that if you put a bit of black electrical tape over the top, you will prevent the light from shining in your eyes. I used my hand to keep from being blinded. It is great for being seen by approaching cars, but hardly casts any light for you to navigate by.

This tail light is inexpensively made for the price paid. It does not work for all weather applications. A better choice would be the tail light by Nite Ize.

Failed after 2 weeks of use,

Great design. I really like the color and illumination of the white light. It's very easy to use and attach to your bike (or whatever thing you want). HOWEVER, after just 2 weeks, the light fails to stay on. (Yes, I turned off the "Try Me" mode.) If I press REALLY hard, the light flashes, but doesn't stay on (in either constant mode or flash mode) the moment I release the button. I replaced the batteries (just in case I accidently left the light on overnight) and it still does not stay on.

I am using this as a spoke light. I previously used Spokelit and got tired of replacing the batteries or having them fall off in traffic. This works great!! I love that it secures to the spokes and is very visible.

GREAT FOR FASTENING TO MORE THAN JUST YOUR BIKE,

This review is for the red rear light.
I was looking for a light that would be very bright and could fasten on to anything. This was PERFECT. I have it fixed to the rear of my helmet (through the vents) and it's incredibly secure and I can't feel it. Unlike other lights that have metal or plastic that you need to fasten to your bike, this has what is similar to a woman's hair elastic band, so you can loop it around anything. My only gripe is that the rear one only comes with a pink elastic band, I want to get this for my boyfriend to put on his backpack but I doubt he would because of the pink elastic band and he'd be carrying it around everywhere on his backpack. If you're a guy and want to put it on your bike, you'd notice the pink a lot less... I noticed another reviewer said it's not good in various weather conditions. Mine has worked through rain, snow, heat, etc

haven't been able to use it as it's been snowing and cold. But by playing with it off the the bike, it seems to work as advertised. i like it's small yet versertile.

Very good product, READ the manual for instructions.
Easy to mount/dismount, good battery life and can be visible from afar. Not meant to be a headlight, could be cheaper. |
