4.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful lamp but bulb is only 40 W
This lamp and its little Tiffany-style shade are very well made and extremely good looking. The plugs in the back, for your clock radio and computer stuff are great. My only complaint is that the 40 W bulb included isn't very bright. I knew that when I bought it that it only took 40W, but you forget what that means. I'm going to see if I can get a compact flourescent with...

1.0 out of 5 stars Badly made
This product has an overall cheap feel of shoddy workmanship. The lamp has a flimsy plastic base plate that's held in place by 4 screws at the bottom. The lamp I ordered arrived with the base plate detached and the plastic grommets all cracked, leaving the wires and electrical components inside exposed. On the back there are 2 RJ11 ports for plugging in your phone (the...

I'm going to see if I can get a compact flourescent with a very small screw in end to go with this. I'd just want to suggest to the manufacturers that they increase the size of the end or find a way to increase wattage to 60W. THEN it's perfect.

You actually can't go wrong anyway, the thing is so well-made and pretty, but if you want a bright reading lamp, you have to either cope with finding compact flourescents or get another less handsome model.

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly quality, nice looking lamp, January 25, 2007
This is a handsomely made, sturdy lamp. I bought two and am thinking about buying a third. It looks great in my office. And, I love it on my bedside table where it gives me easy access to additional plugs in a place where I've never had enough (for a phone, lamp and clock) and hated having an extension cord.

On the back there are 2 RJ11 ports for plugging in your phone (the contact pins on one of my RJ11 ports are twisted out of place) and 2 additional 3-prong outlets. I think these extra ports and outlets are an unnecessary and poor design feature (it's an imitation tiffany-style lamp -- why would anyone want to turn this into a wannabe surge protector?!?!) and I would not feel safe plugging any electrical components into the lamp. I guess I got what I paid for and should have done more research on a decent lamp before buying one. It's too much trouble to return the thing, so I taped the plastic base onto the lamp using gaffer's tape and left it at that. I consider this purchase a waste of money.
