My 14 month old daughter is completely addicted to this book! She loves it like no other. If I pick up this book, she will stop whatever she's doing, run over and jump into my lap to have this book read. When I'm finished reading, she wants to sit and read it herself for what seems like hours!! The illustrations are spectacular and the story is very fun to read. A real treat!

This book gives you the basic verses for singing this crazy song, that my 4 & 5 year old pre=schoolers adore. I learned this song while visiting a Back to School Night at our local Elementary school, so it can be for much older children as well. At the end of the book, there is a list of many, many more ways to sing it than just the main one detailed in the book and we have tried them all ! It remains one of the most requested at music time, and sung throughout our day as the children are doing other activities.

My four year old loves books and has been read to every night since she was born--but this is the first book she wants to read over and over and over and over again---every night! Good thing we both like it! :) Too bad it Amazon is not selling it (out of print?) and especially bad that used booksellers are asking extreme prices for it! I would have loved to get more copies as gifts and for her classroom.

This is a super cute book, and it was in great condition! It has a song that goes along with it with the music in the back of the book. There are also some different variations of the song that are a lot of fun too look at! Very funny book, lots of fun to read with my son, he loves it!

My 2 year old son loved this book to pieces. While looking for a replacement book, I found the cassette tape. My son loves this song and we have fun singing the words from the book and watching him listen to the music. The book was his all time favorite and he would not put it down.

You know how camp songs go - they're silly, they're pointless, and they're fun to sing super fast.

The illustrations really help the song, showing (in comic fashion) how every verse - about how she puts her toes in her nose, about how she only has two teeth, about her enormous feet - only serves to make her happier and more successful in life.

A melody and some variations on the chorus are given in the back, along with the (sweet) story of how the author (really, the compiler and illustrator) learned the song from his future wife. If you can't read music, google suggests that some people sing this song to the tune of "Shortnin' Bread". (Google also finds you several more verses to this song that aren't included in this book, but that's no surprise.)

Totally exceeded expectations, always enjoy reading, instant favorite must have for home to read over and over, totally adorable, impossible not to sing it!

This is a beautifully illustrated book. The basis of the story is a camp song many of us baby boomers learned while sitting around the campfire. The author has a postscript with the tune, versions, and origins of the story. You will enjoy singing it and reading it to your children and grandchildren

This book is so cute and fun to read my 4 yr old daughter loves it and can read Catalinas whole name now! So cute!

I am a school librarian who works with kindergarteners. This is one book I read year after year at the beginning of school. It has everything little ones love - silliness, rhyming, music (oh yes, we sing it), and great illustrations. The book has high circulation stats. As a matter of fact, I am buying another copy of Catalina from Amazon because of the many little hands that have worn out our current copy.
