Vastly underated singer. Her music is sublime and haunting, check out "Pra Quem Quiser Me Visitar". If you like Madredeus' Teresa Salgueiro, why not check out Leila? Recommended.

A Voice That Encapsulates Beauty,

Comparing the 'Pinheiro' sound to anything else on this planet is simply ridiculous. This Brazilian artist is in a class by herself. Every song drips with honest emotion and serious tribute to the original composer. There's also that feminine magic that touches your heart in such a profound way. Hearing her sing love ballads makes me proud to be a 'homen' (man)! This is the best album that I have purchased in 1999. If you were concerned, don't be.. It's a winner. Expect this disc to make it's home in your compact disc player for a long time. ENJOY!

This is a songbook album with new songs by Guinga - the one-word name of a new composer and guitarist from the last decades. All lyrics are by Aldir Blanc, one of the great lyricists in the Brazilian music industryAll arrangements are by Argentinian Jorge Calandrelli who has worked with Tony Bennett.
