Gr. 1^-3. Most's subjects are animals named after other animals, such as catbirds, spider monkeys, and rabbit fish. Facing each page of text is a fanciful illustration of an animal, with a small picture of the actual animal appearing on the text page. The illustrations of the real animals are less memorable than those of the make-believe ones, and it's the imaginative pictures little ones will probably remember best.
