Another Reminder Why Catch 22 Is My Favorite Band,
This review is from: Catch 22 Live (W/Dvd) (Audio CD)
A very very solid live show by the band, performed in front of an extremely enthusiastic crowd in Farmingdale, NY in August 2004. The sound is incredibly polished for a live album, and the band tears through a set of new favorites and old classics, representing all three full-length albums, as well as a track or two off the "Washed Up and Through The Wringer" EP-thing.
The only shortcoming of the album is that it's edited to remove some of the between-song space, which means that crowd reactions, band banter, etc., is lost, and I prefer to have that remain in live albums, as it adds to the feel of really being at a show. The album by itself is easily worth $15, but the addition of a DVD featuring the entire concert makes it a must-have. In addition to the (amazingly good) concert footage, a variety of extras are packed in, including some earlier tour footage and home videos of some of the band members as kids, showing off some of their previous experiences with music, including things like vocalist Ryan Eldred's grade school cello recital and bassist Pat Kays singing the Toys-R-Us "I Don't Wanna Grow Up" song at a high school party. Absolutely great. Five stars. -HX

I bought this cd after seeing Catch 22 in Florida for spring break. They are an awesome band if you are into ska music. It is a fun cd and you can just sit back and jam out to it. Hope you enjoy

Yeah i know what people are thinking when they see the new catch 22 playing the old catch 22 songs. They think they should only stick to there new stuff and not play the old songs. Theres also those people who think that the new catch just plain sucks. I used to be like that until i listened to this cd. So now i have to disagree with those people. Sure, the new catch 22 might not be as good old catch 22 but they have some great songs and even when they play there old songs it sounds pretty good. Some people just need to learn to listen right. This is a great cd. It really shows how good catch 22 is. If anything i fell that catch 22 and streetlight manifesto should both play the old catch 22 songs. Both of them do a great job while playing them.

This is without doubt the worst album ever released. that should explain enough why not to buy it. but other reasons are: the band sounds nothing like original catch 22. theyve turned into bubble gum pop ska.. and its terrible. Most of this live album are great songs.. but with the worst vocalist i have ever heard. In my opinion he should never attempt to sing Tomas's songs if he writes songs that say the word "started" a million times. his voice reminds me of Kermit the frog and he should get back with the muppets(and also should stop singing jeff davidson era stuff). the other half of this "album" is full of songs from Dinosaur Sounds, a poor excuse for a catch 22 record. if i could give this album negative stars i would.. so do yourself a favor and buy a cd with more original catch 22 members than catch 22 itself has now Streetlight Manifesto, or get Alone in a Crowd or Keasbey Nights both are good albums. I hope one day this band realizes what a sad excuse they are.. well thats all good night and good luck

Catch 22 is now just a lame band; nothing else to say. Just look at the CD, half of it is Keasbey Nights stuff which is Tomas' and the other half is Dinosaur Sounds stuff which is the worst CD over. period. do not support this band.
