Book Description

The Perfect...Wife?

Tony Sinclair is looking for a sweet, Southern Hower of femininity to raise their 3.5 children in the "Leave It To Beaver" life he never had. So why is he so captivated by Jazz Taylor, a bold, sassy special effects artist who whips up movie creatures, not cookies? And stubborn! He's never met a woman who was so set on refusing police protection. If he can just keep her out of trouble long enough, maybe they'll have a chance to see where this hotter-than-hot attraction leads.

Jazz has stood on her own two feet since she was young, and she's not looking for a white knight -- even though Tony's testosterone is arranged very nicely and his personal, uh, skills give "Protect and Serve" a whole new meaning...But Jazz has hidden behind smoke and mirrors for so long can she trust her heart that love is no illusion?

About the Author

I grew up in Austin, Texas, and have been writing since the age of four, but did not complete my first "masterpiece" until the age of eleven: a Regency spy thriller version of Orwell's Animal Farm. For some strange reason, this proved to be unmarketable. I began my first romance novel at the age of twelve but noticed after fifty-three handwritten pages that the story didn't seem to have a plot. Many years later, while at Smith College, I began to understand why plot was an important element of a book.

I now live in Atlanta, Georgia, with my husband and a menagerie of animals. I'd love to hear from my readers at P.O. Box 70185, Marietta, GA 30007-0185, or at kkauthor@aol.com

More About the Author

Award winning author Karen Kendall has always been a creative spirit, fleeing into the fictional world at an early age, emerging only to obtain a Bachelors' degree in something even less practical: Art History. After completing graduate coursework for an MA and working for several small museums and a large commercial art gallery, she realized her dream of being an author, and has since published over twenty novels. She now resides both in South Florida and in her various story worlds. Her husband Don tolerates her imaginary friends -- as long as she socializes with real ones, too!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very amusing romantic romp, December 4, 2001
This review is from: To Catch a Kiss (Mass Market Paperback)
Atlanta police officer Tony Sinclair visits Taylor FX Studios to ask the owner, Oscar nominee Jazz Taylor, where he can find her father Myles, wanted for questioning in the High Museum heist. Tony also has a personal reason to interrogate Myles as the prime suspect in the museum robbery because he has been seeing his Aunt Ellen. Jazz informs Tony that she has not seen her father in over a year, but gives the cop the last known address she has of him.

When she returns to her home, Jazz finds Myles waiting for her. He insists he is innocent and pleads with her to hide him. Being a special effects expert should make that easy for Jazz, but Tony sees what she is doing. Instead of turning her in for abetting Myles, Tony becomes her accomplice in trying to prove her father's innocence. However, if he knew the danger to her life and his heart, Tony would have chosen a safer path for the woman he now loves.

TO CATCH A KISS is a very amusing romantic romp that stars two likable lead protagonists. The story line reads like a 1930s madcap comedic romance set in contemporary times. It never slows down until the tale is finished. The support cast adds depth and much humor, especially Myles. Fans of humorous romances will enjoy Karen Kendall's latest romp and want to read her debut tale, the jocular SOMETHING ABOUT CECILY.

4.0 out of 5 stars Worth the time to read,, April 14, 2004

I, too had just a hint of trouble with the plot of this book, but I love this writer and have read several of her other stories and know what she is capable of--don't get me wrong the plot of this story isn't bad or anything like that it's just the reader has to stretch just a tad to get where the author is trying to take them. (I think I said that right, smile). Anyway, I loved the characters in this book and think the reader should still buy this book and read it. A small stretch of the imagination but that's okay. I had fun!

2.0 out of 5 stars Room For Improvement, November 12, 2003

The plot of this book is BEYOND unlikely. Many things just could not have happened and it jerks you out of the story. This author writes OK, but needs better plot development.
