1.0 out of 5 stars How disappointing, horribly sad., August 11, 2009
This review is from: Catch Me (MP3 Download)
I recently reviewed a copy of Demi Lovato's second album, and while I was not impressed, I didn't think it was bad. Decent pop with a rock edge, nothing too exciting, but definitely better than Miley Cyrus and her the rest of her co workers.

The problem is this song. When I heard this song, I was amazed. I thought it was one of the most beautiful songs I have heard in a long time. It sounds like if Yaida Hitomi, Otsuka Ai, and Taylor Swift joined forces. Such beautiful lush acoustic music, such perfect melodies, and her voice sounds absolutely divine

BUT THEN SHE HAS TO RUIN IT, about 50 seconds before the song comes to an end, it turns into a boring stereotypical FAKE pop punk affair...I realize maybe her target audience is excited by this..

However, the song was so beautiufl, so rhythmic, so melodic, her voice and the instrumentation came together perfectly...I don't disagree on the idea of speeding it up at the end, but she could have fired up the violins, added a tambourine and a little bit more percussion, and boosted the tempo up without COMPLETELY DESTROYING the feel and ambience of the song.

Ultimately, Lovato's album fails because of this, there are GOOD things about it, but they're all lost in an attempt to conform to the American music market.

Please, Demi, I used to completely dismiss you, and I still don't think much of you, but listen to Yaida Hitomi and Otsuka Ai even though they're Japanese, and pay more attention to what Taylor Swift is doing instead of Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus...this was a breathy sighful amazingly beautiful song until you made it into sheer GARBAGE.
