4.0 out of 5 stars Catch of the Season
This is the sequel to My True Love Gave to Me. Miss Allison Munroe heads to London for her first season and is honored to have Marquis DeGuis want to marry her. She already has one gentleman on her mind, Mr. Geoffrey Pentercast, and is conflicted as to which one to choose.

4.0 out of 5 stars Catch of the Season, November 18, 2011

An enjoyable read but I think the author could have expanded on certain parts or added scenes to make it even more entertaining especially when they were competing for Miss Munroe. I like that she isn't typical London debutante with a large dowry but someone from the country.

Clean regency romance.

2.0 out of 5 stars Regency, September 6, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Catch Of The Season (Zebra Regency Romance) (Paperback)
The genre of my choice. Pure Regency novels are very difficult for me to obtain except online since I am disabled and do not have a means of transportation. So I basically have to go by "book titles" or, if there is a picture of the bookcover, I can judge by that.

However it is hard to judge without descriptive phrases and I do make costly mistakes since I am a disabled senior on a very small fixed income but an avid reader so when I pick wrong, as I did in this case, it is a huge disappointment.

I have certain ideas in my mind for the hero and heroine after 40 years of reading Regency novels which began in the 60's with Georgette Heyer and Barbara Cartland so I feel I have been "spoiled" by the best.

The hero fell short of my expectations immediately as did the heroine. I quickly gave it away to our library in the senior building where I live.

However, ordering from the dealers at Amazon was a wonderfully easy and efficient experience and one I will repeat over and over again when I receive my monthly social security check and can order up to six (6) books per month. The ease of delivery and choice of product was excellent. A little more costly than I would like to spend but books are my only vice and the only luxury I allow myself.

TRUST the BOOK SELLERS at Amazon if you love books. Dealing with them was, and will be in the future, a PLEASURE!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good, well-written book, December 31, 2004

Regency fan (MO United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Catch Of The Season (Zebra Regency Romance) (Paperback)
As a fan of Regency romances, I enjoyed this book. It is well-written, with well-developed characters and a spunky, lively, likeable heroine. I also appreciated the fact that it is the first novel of its genre that I have read that contains the observance of Guy Fawkes Night. However, although I liked hero Geoffrey's fun-loving, romantic side, I did not find him particularly respectable. He humiliated his rival at the Fawkes celebration and employed dirty, ungentlemanly tactics during their fistfight. However, I can understand why the two main characters fell in love. I look forward to reading more of Regina Scott's work.
