In the early '60's, when I first began fishing for winter steelhead, not that much info was available, in book form. Lest you had an " 'ol pro" to teach you how to fish for the wily, elusive steelhead, it was by trial and error. Believe me, there was much error.
Stan Fagerstrom came out w/ the "Catch More Steelhead" book and it was exactly what the beginning steelheader needed. Much of what I know now and technique's I use today, were learned and sometimes embelished upon from having read this book, back then. But alas, the book belonged to a friend and I no longer had access to it, for year's. Thirty-five year's later, I've been able to purchase and review this book, to hone up on the basic technique's that helped me to become a successful steelhead fisherman and recapture some found memories of those early year's. I strongly recommend this book for anyone who want's to learn the basic's. It is a treasure. Tho it is outdated in regard to some of the equipment and many new advance's have been made since the book was first published, it has THE basic's anyone needs to learn to become a successful steelheader.
